Hey! There are a lot of Canadian brides on here :) We haven't registered here yet, but we will his next trip to Canada. Did you register at the Bay & Home outfitters? I loathe both because I think they're both overpriced b/c HBC has total control over the market. Blah... anyway I really feel like Canadian brides really have limited options.
We're registered at Crate & Barrel and Macy's in the US. In Canada, I'm thinking the Bay and I'm going to get my mom to encourage guests to buy online at C&B. Whatever I get I have to lug down to the US & may have to pay duty on it.
we did all of our registering online. i'm kind of sad that we missed out on the whole 'wondering around the store with gun in hand' thing but since we live in sweden its a little hard to pop into pottery barn to register :)
it was pretty stress free. we are going to have a fun time when we move back to the states in a year or so and actually get to use all the stuff we receive. we dont want to ship anything over here and then ship in back...moving in containers isn't to to easy on china and crystal!

At the urging of FMIL, my FI and I got off our butts and started our registry. We registered with a Canadian company so I'm won't go into great detail of how we felt about the company because it won't be much help to the majority of bees here.
I wanted to ask if anyone else felt stressed starting their registry? It probably didn't help that the store was approx 1 million sq feet (or so the consultant told us) but we felt so overwhelmed with the experience. In an attempt to save money, FI and I both moved back home after school so we literally will be starting from scratch. Walking around the store made me realize how many things we needed to start our home. Thinking that way probably contributed to the stress of registering. Thank goodness the registry office spoiled us with champagne and strawberries-believe me, it did wonders to lower the stress level.
On a bit of a side note: for the Canadians on WB, I would advice starting a registry before Christmas or more importantly, Boxing Day. I never thought about it, but you'll do your guests a favour as some of the items may go on sale for Boxing Day. Be nice and pass the savings onto your loved ones.
Please share your experiences when you started your registry? Were you stressed like us or did you get all trigger happy?
