- Wedding: August 2014 - Forest in PA
In the fall we completely hand made this grape vine wedding arch. FI welded the steel arch and I picked the grape vines from the forest and wired them to the arch. It too about 3 months, but we never tested it out in the ground to see how well it would stand up. Well we tested out this past week, and sure enough it was top heavy. We had to cut about 1ft 6in off of the arch and completely redesign the stakes at the bottom and reweld them. I think the arch looks much better shorter.
We fixed the bottom so that it stands up and tested out the crystals on the arch today. I was standing on a bucket on the uneven ground while FI helped me stay steady and handed me the crystals. They kept falling off because I didn’t properly secure them, but I was able to put them on long enough to get an idea of what the arch will look like on our wedding day with the crystals before the flowers. I think they look good despite the fact that they were uneven and falling off some. Please don’t mind my cloudy pictures. What do you bees think? I would like to get some wire or hooks and try to test it out again before the wedding with some more looks and make it more tidy.
We can’t wait to see what it looks like with flowers on on our wedding day. We are getting around 200 flowers just for our arch. We are thinking of doing something like what is in these pictures with white, pink, and some green flowers.
