I am in the exact same boat. I know it’s coming I just don’t know when. The waiting is driving me nuts. The only thing I’ve found to sort of occupy my mind is to research weddings…colors, themes, cakes, dresses, etc. Of course that usually just makes me more anxious but it’s a temporary fix. Good luck!

My FI totally tricked me after ring shopping to think that he had ordered something so it was going to take awhile…when he had ordered the ring much earlier and he was just throwing me off the chase. I was just like you, its hard not to mention it when it is on you mind all the time!

I had a friend who was planning her wedding at the time so I just talked weddings with her to get all my wedding talk out to someone other than my fiance. It actually worked pretty well as far as distractions go!

My bf and I went looking at engagement rings about 1 month ago and it seriously feels like 6 years since then.  I’ve been reading tons of wedding magazines in front of him so I think he gets the hint (or at least I hope he does!).  =P

He’s been talking about taking a weekend trip to NYC next month and he also has been talking about making reservations for a trendy restaurant so I’m hoping it’ll happen at one of those places.  Or he could just be totally trying to throw me off because I told him I really wanted to be surprised.  I feel bad for the guy having to plan it but I feel bad for me for the suspense.

@<span style=”color: #0000ff;”><span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>ondrapants – good luck with your wait!!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean!  Before we went looking at engagement rings, I wasn’t exactly in a rush to get engaged – it had been something we’d talked about but there wasn’t a timeline.  But now since I’ve looked at rings, it’s all I think about!  I’m sure being obsessed with weddingbee hasn’t made it easier to think about other things.

Wedding Bee completely saved me…I could rant and rave all I wanted about my frustrations…I too knew he had the ring and then went into crazy modeFoot in mouth and never stopped asking or hinting about when it would happen…You can read my past post to find out what happen or…long story short he ended up bringing back the ring we had picked.  Don’t worry there is a happy ending..I finally stopped my nagging and went back to normal happy me….On June 15 I was surprised with a new even more gorgeous ring and I never knew it was coming!!  Moral of the story put it in the back of your mind and save all your frustrations for wedding bee.  In my experience I was applying to much pressure and unknowingly so was everyone we knew (he told our friends and family about the ring) and it became overwhelming for him.

i found out that he asked my dad for permission in MAY.  and now it is nearly august.  and im not sure if he even has the ring yet grrrrrrr.  we actually just had a pretty nasty fight about this the other night.  the reason he asked my dad is because they live in NM and we are in GA so he wasn’t sure when he would see him in person next.  o and not only do i know, but EVERYONE in his family knows because he got excited and told his mom who told everyone, including ME.  UGH!  It is so frusttrating, i always wanted it to be a suprise to me, and on top of that i HATE the idea of everyone know for so long before he even proposes.  so not my style πŸ™  i’m at the point now where i almost don’t want him to propose because i feel like it is so expected and what we are “suposed” to do.

We went to our first jewerler on April 22 then to a second jewerler on 24th.  After a frustrating month later, we had another appointment on May 26…He surprised me and proposed on May 22!  So, he took exactly a month.  But he picked up the ring on the day…and we had 60 days to bring it back for any reason – since I live out of town from where he is, our jewerler was understanding and gave me extra couple of weeks until I was in back in town.
