Aww! I think it's so sweet that you didn't lash out on him for passing out! I've been in similar situations, and just knew how tired FI must have been to fall asleep. So I'm sure he appreciates you so much and loves you even more for this! Besides, you gotta love those texts they send afterwards. It's too sweet! :P
mine has wrapped gifts- but I rewrapped them since I am the better wrapper.
Anyone else's SO help with wrapping gifts
Ppsshh, yeah right!
Mine wrapped the presents for his family and for me... i'm wrapping the ones for my family...
Nope. I wrapped them all. He still hasn't wrapped mine!
at least i know when i wrap them, they look purdy
My bf is actually a great present wrapper! It's super sweet because he said he grew up having to do it for his grandma. (AWWW!) So if there is anything i need wrapped, I take it to him.
It's really cute that he felt so bad :). To FI, 'wrapping' means strategically twisting the shopping bag in came in around the gift or having me close my eyes and putting my hands out, lol. There are many reasons to love him, but his attention to detail isn't one of them :).
I was the designated gift wrapper this year b/c I'm super OCD control freak and wanted to make sure they were perfect...BUT...here's a funny story. I told DH he had to wrap my present and the present he's giving to our BIL on Christmas Eve. We're on a super budget crunch, so I was being really thrifty with the tape/wrapping paper. I managed to wrap 35 gifts (big & small) on less than one roll of tape...The DH? Oh no...he wrapped two flippin gifts and used a whole darn roll of tape...UGGGGGG...MEN!
My husband and I wrapped presents in separate rooms last night. It was really cute. We kept yelling at each other for supplies and to not open doors. And the cat wasn't helping much ecause he always wants to be on the opposite side of a closed door. He complained about it but I love wrapping presents. I put on a holiday movie and went to town.
I wrap them all myself. He actually put one of my gifts in a box then asked me to wrap it. I find it hilarious though :)
No, I wrap all of the presents except for the ones for me. FI is AWFUL at wrapping, if he even bothers to do it. His mother commented on how "odd" it was that she suddenly started getting beautifully wrapped gifts after I started dating her son. ;)
We wrapped presents together today. Mine tend to be gift wrap-worthy, whereas his are a bit sloppy, but I appreciate the help. He wrapped for his family, and I wrapped for mine (as well as helping his with a couple corners). I always think it's nice to know the giver put forth effort, and it's almost more adorable if it's a bit sloppy.
@jo.lee: Hahaha! I love it!
I am really intrigued to see how FI's presents to me look. He's not bad... but definitely not the most detailed. The paper usually doesn't look bad, but he doesn't normally do ribbon or bows or any of that jazz.
@TNYorker: Yeah, he's a keeper! :) He drives truck and while he doesn't do long haul, he does put in 10-12 hour days regularly, plus he's in school full time, and tries to be as social as possible at the same time. So, I totally understand how exhausted he gets!
Jim NEVER helps wrap gifts! He doesn't even make a show of trying to help! haha! I wrap all of the presents, except the one he gets for me, all by myself. Sometimes he stays home and listens to Christmas music while I'm wrapping, but usually he asks if it's okay if he goes to the VFW for a drink.
My hubby and I wrapped all our presents together. :) I think it ended up a 50/50 split... I love my hubby!! :)

... but FI fell asleep.
The plan was I was going over for dinner, then we were going to watch a movie, wrap presents, and just cuddle and all that. Well, I went over to his apartment last night after work and we had a great dinner and talk. Then, he asked me if I would be ok with cleaning up the dishes while he grabbed a quick nap. Sure, babe, no problem.
He promply passes out on his bed. I finish the dishes, grab the gifts and supplies, and try to wake him up. He mumbles something along the lines of "sure, awesome, be out in a sec." An hour later, I was literally putting the LAST piece of tape on all our gifts for our families... and I hear FI from his bedroom, "hey babe! I'm awake, what can I do to help? :)
I honestly didn't care because he has been working long hours this week and was exhausted, plus I like wrapping, but FI felt TERRIBLE. He couldn't sleep later last night cause he felt so bad and kept texting me sweet little things today. I thought it was so funny!
Anyone else's SO help with wrapping gifts... or at least attempt to help?
