I can’t figure out if I should wear my ceremony wedges (about 3″ heel) or my reception flats to the fitting. I’m afraid if I wear the flats that the hem will be too short for the ceremony; however, if I wear my heels, I don’t want to be tripping on my dress during the reception.
I know a lot of bees do a shoe changeout — what did you do for the hem length measurement?

You could take both.
That way you’ll have whichever pair of shoes you need. It may be helpful to have both there anyway. There may be an “in between” measurement that will work for both pairs of shoes.
If you have to take just one pair, take the heels.

@lovecacti: sorry I havent had my wedding yet, but I plan to wear my heels for alterations. I figured worse case scenario I’d rather have to lift the dress up if its a bit long than have it be to short lol. I know your pain though, I’m 5’2 and bought 5 inch heels for the ceremony only so I’m going right back into flats afterwards.

@lovecacti: I’d go with the heels. Otherwise the dress might look way too short. Bring both though.

I had my first fitting and have my follow up friday and wore/am planning to wear my heels. I would wear your ceremony heels because if you wear the flats they will hem the dress too short for when you wear your heels. Between the bustle and the fact that its a heck of a lot easier to walk in flats you should be fine with a little extra fabric in the flats!

I definitely would wear your ceremony heels for the dress fittings. As prior posters noted, you don’t want your dress to end up being too short.

The heels 110%. A too short dress looks cray-cray.
