A while back I bought a plain rose gold band to go with my white gold, pave e-ring. At the time I loved it (I’m a big fan of the mismatched look). However, over time, the more I looked at it the more I feel like the band and e-ring are competing for attention rather than complementing each other.
I’ve now bought a second white gold band, which I like much better.
However, I know I will sometime wear just the band when I’m married which, on it’s own, I find a bit unsubstantial as it’s only 2mm thick.
Then, while I was messing around with the rings, I put the rose and white gold bands together and had an “Ah ha!” moment.
I really like the two plain bands together, and would like to wear the rose gold one with the white band in lieu of my e-ring for occasions where I don’t wear my e-ring.
Has anyone else done something like this before? Does it look odd?

@NovaPotato: I love it! I also am a rose gold fan! Sometimes it’s better to just have the plain bands 🙂
Can I ask what your ring size is/ carat your oval is. It looks so fabulous on your hand and I’m always trying to figure out size comparisions!

My sister does this. She will sometimes wear her e-ring and new-ish band, or just her new band, or her old band+new band. It always looks nice.
The only thing I am not a fan of is the double bands + e-ring look.

I LOVE rose gold! I kind of agree, I think I like the white gold band with your engagement ring better, but I really like the 2 bands together when you don’t wear your e ring. I bought a plain sliver band for times when I don’t want to wear my wedding set, but only 1 band. I think you may have convinced me that I need another one 🙂 I don’t think it looks odd at all!

@harperlynn: Thanks! My e-ring is British size I 1/2. I bought both bands in Canada, and they’re a size 5 (the bands are a tiny bit bigger than the e-ring, although not by much at all). The total carat weight is 0.5, but I don’t know the weight of the centre stone. The dimensions of the oval face are 6x4mm
@MsW-to-MrsM: Glad I’m not the only one to wear them like that! I like being able to mix and match.

@JerseyGirl85: Well, you always need a spare, right? 😉
@sheepandbear: Thank you!

@NovaPotato: Oh wow, thank you! I am also a size 5 and it’s so hard to find the proper dimensions on an oval! It faces up wonderfully 🙂
I think you should just mix and match 🙂
