There aren't any rules but will you be comfortable in a bolero? From what I can see of your arms in the picture, they look good! I know that doesn't help you feel better but maybe you could go to the gym and do some toning exercises to make yourself feel more confident about your arms?
I think it would be cute. I would just worry about being too hot (not sure where you live though).
PS - Beautiful dress!
Your dress is beautiful!!!
Girl, I am also self conscious and was considering wearing a bolero but I am wearing the veil all night. The veil covers up everything.
I think the bolero is cute and you can pull it off but the dress probaly looks better without it. If it makes you comfortable....wear it! You will look beautiful either way girl.
I live in Iowa, so it is pretty humid, but my ceremony and reception are both inside with air conditioning... I think it's really cute, too... I just worry about getting too hot. My dress is already really heavy!
Thanks for your advice @missAsB!
@cradosta: thanks! I am thinking of buying it and only wearing it for the ceremony... but I'm still not sure! My veil does cover up my arms pretty well!
I think being inside you might actually be a little cold. I'm not sure about where you are but here they crank up the A/C so high when it is hot out that I need a sweater inside! Your arms might be cold at the reception.
I'm wearing a bolero at night in July. We are by the ocean, so it will cool off considerably. Nothing wrong with something pretty that makes you comfy.
I am thinking of wearing one in May. It is cooler in may but still summertime. I think if you are comfortable then you should be fine. People have told me not to wear it but I love the bolero look. Plus, I want to cover my arms.
im wearing a lace bolero for my wedding... i think there are NO RULES as soon as you feel comfortable... instead of satin bolero, what about wearing a shrug/bolero of the same material of the bottom of your dress? chiffon maybe..it is lighter than satin...

I think with a satin bolero AND the veil, you'll look very hot and covered up. The veil covers your arms very well when it falls over your shoulders in the front. I liked the suggestion of a chiffon or lace or sheer bolero.
If you're self-conscious about your arms, you still have 4 months to get them in shape! Get some 3-5 lb weights and start pumping them! You'll be amazed what a difference it will make.
Take the veil only! which will cover your arms better than the bolero. I am honest. The bolero will make the top much heavy, so just forget the bolero.
you looks gorgeous without it! i'm just worried that you would be hot. boleros are cute tho =)
I wore one at my night reception on Aug 1st last year and it was like 95 degrees. it looked great and I got a ton of compliments. I have photos posted in the gallery.
It's a cute bolero and you should wear it if it will make you feel more comfortable. But --- I think you look GREAT in the pic without it!
I love you dress!
I don't think there are rules about wearing boleros, and I think you should do whatever makes you feel most comfortable! it's your day, do what you want!
1. You look great! :) There's no reason you should be self-conscious about your arms. I promise you that no one else is going to be looking at them, they will just see you looking beautiful and radiant on your wedding day.
2. I actually am not really a fan of that particular bolero with your dress. I think it's a little plain compared to your dress. It also won't actually cover much of your arms, just your shoulders and very upper arms.
Gril - you look GREAT! Your arms are nice and you shouldn't feel self-conscious. I vote no bolero and for you to proudly rock that dress for your FI and all of your guests!!!
I think the bolero looks sophisticated. Do what makes you comfortable and you can't loose :-)

I purchased my bridal gown for my July 3 wedding and it is strapless. I love it, but I am pretty self-conscious about my arms. So I was wondering, is it lame to wear a bolero for the ceremony even though it will be super hot in July? I don't know the "rules" when it comes to summer weddings and wearing things like that.
So what are your opinions? What do you think?
