I’m getting married in two weeks (yayyy!) at a court house ceremony. Only our family is attending the actual ceremony and then we will go out to a family dinner that same evening. I’m wearing ano ivory knee length strapless lace dress. It’s gorgeous but definitely casual as far as bridal goes. Our wedding is on a Wednesday but on the following Saturday we are having our friends meet us at a local pub to celebrate. It’s not an official reception, but the evening is being held because of our wedding. I’m confused if I should wear my white dress or not to the pub. Would you wear it or would you wear something less fancy?
Thanks for the advice 🙂

I’d wear the dress twice. From your description it sounds lovely but more casual and it wouldn’t be out of place at a pub reception. Unlike a full sparkly ballgown, say!
Wearing it to both occasions means you get the fun and pleasure out of a special outfit twice too. And what’s not to like about that?

@lucyzta: Why not wear it? If you’re counting the pub as an official marriage celebration, do it up!

I’d wear it twice or if budget allows i would get a second white shorter dress with a statement necklace maybe to suit the ambiance of the pub but i’ll def. wear white 🙂 do you have a picture of the dress?

Yes to wearing the white dress! I agree with a PP who suggested adding a statement necklace or some other accessory to make it more pub-appropriate, I think that’s a brilliant idea.
ETA: Since your dress is strapless, you could also throw on a cardigan, it will keep you warm and make the whole outfit look a little more casual.

@lucyzta: I would SO wear my dress twice! Maybe like another bee suggested add a statement necklace or switch up the accessories in some way but I definitely would rock it to celebrate with friends.

I’d wear it twice. I bet you more brides would love to don their bridal finery again, but white ball gowns or satin mermaid gowns are just not appropriate everyday wear.
