I purchased my wedding shoes in January and got married in October, i wore them at work for half days and out on occasion. I’m so happy that I did, they were comfortable and worn in for the wedding.

Just make sure that you are not going to places where floor will be sticky, or that you will be stepping around puddles.

@Nic01:  I always manage to scuff my shoes, but if you’re more graceful than I am, I say go for it!

@Nic01:  The only thing I can say is get some comfy inserts and try to wear then a few times to break them in before the big day. You don’t have to wear them the whole day bring some back up shoes just in case.

I wore my potential shoes to an even I had and they were so uncomfortable(even though they were wedges) I bought another pair of shoes!

I vote you break those bad boys in!

My feet get blisters just by looking at new dress shoes (and I don’t mean the little blisters, I get those god awful huge blisters), so I’m wearing mine beforehand to get the painful breaking in process over with before the wedding.

I would definitely wear them if you know you need to break them in first!

I’d be nervous about messing them up beforehand, so it really depends on the occasion. Going out to a bar? NOPE! Going to a show? Sure, why not? It all depends on how likely it is for them to get ruined.

My concern is how painful you say they are. Do they fit properly or are they tight in areas? Is the heel just at too steep an angle? If they hurt after standing 30 minutes for the fitting, how’ll you’ll make it through the ceremony? I’d say definitely try breaking them in, but be prepared that you may have to get a new pair if they’re still super uncomfortable when your wedding comes around.

Yes yes yes, please break them in. I had tiny wedges for the wedding that I wore a bit around the house, but the day of they tore up my poor feet and I ended up covered in bandaids all weekend.

I had two pairs of shoes. My ceremony shoes were fabric topped, so they were purchased with comfort in mind, but they were ivory, so there was no chance of my wearing them beforehand because I was worried about staining them.

I wore my reception shoes beforehand though. And very nice they were, too!
