- Wedding: June 2010 - New York Botanical Garden
Sigh. I would love to wear my dress again! But not like that…
I love the way it fit me, and the material – but there are hardly appropriate venues for wearing a big white dress again…has anyone altered their dress to make it wearable again? I would love to see pics if you have, or stories of how you went about changing it!
Thanks! xo HC

I would love to be able to do this as well but there is no way my dress could be made short.
For now I’m just hanging onto it for fun!

I would love to wear it again too. I have thought about doing 1 year anniversary pictures with our wedding get up just for the heck of it but I think some might think its ridiculous!

@PitBulLover:I’ve heard of anniversary pictures. I think it can be a nice idea.
Another idea I’ve seen. Is my sister has some friends that every year have a garden party where everyone wears their wedding dresses or bridesmaids dresses. I think that would be a lot of fun and saves it from sitting in your closet.

I have a dream of a girls only party where everyone wears their wedding dress or a bridesmaid dress and we all sit around drinking beer all day, LOL!
Paula Abdul actually wore my dress dyed black to the Emmy’s or something. It looked gorgeous! I’d love to do something like that, but I don’t often to go events that call for a dress that fancy! LOL! So, she’ll sit in the closet… (or actually beside our closet, the box is too big to fit in!!!)

The girl on the Young House Love blog dyed her dress and wore it again to a few weddings. But they had a casual wedding and her dress was pretty but casual.

Wear it and watch the awards shows…Golden Globes, Oscars, etc.!!!!

I wore my wedding outfit prior to getting married and have worn it since getting married. I pulled my favourite outfit from my closet for my last minute JoP wedding. It’s a simple skirt and top and I love that I can wear them again and again since they’re timeless, classic pieces! And, I didn’t spend a lot for them when I originally purchased them!

Mine is very simple and modern, I bet I could shorten it into a 50’s type length (it is the J Crew Lucinda ballgown) and dye it a fabulous color. I’m definitely going to try and sell it first, though!

I wore mine again, in fact the whole outfit for some Victorian-style bridal portraits! A year after the wedding!
