I am trying not to panic, but I checked in to see what the weather will be like for our wedding next week and it looks like it is going to rain! All of our ceremony decor was purchased to be used outdoors, like our chair covers and chair sashes. We do have a church as a backup site, but I was REALLY hoping we would not have to have the ceremony there. I have been planning this beach wedding forever! This is so frustrating. Are there any outdoor brides who had to deal with rain on their wedding day? What did you do? We can't rent a tent for the beach because the beach does not allow free standing structures. We aren't supposed to set up before the wedding either, but that is one rule we will have to break. We have everything in place for an outdoor event--even our photos will be taken outside. I have 10 days to come up with a rain plan. Please help!

Depending on how heavy it is, get some really pretty umbrellas for not just yourself but your guest: it would make for some smashing photographs.

I hope you have another dress for the reception which you can move indoors.

Get some cute wellies they make some cute pictures:

Ok you still have a week, rain can be ify sometimes, maybe you'll luck out. I say screw the rules and get a tent but don't set it up.. rig it to be set up but don't actually do it unless you absolutly have to. What's the worst that could happen? It would take a very cold hearted person to say something about that during the service, but just in case, station people to handle any problems if they arise.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't freak yet. The weather forecast changes on a daily basis so by the time it gets to your date the sun could be shining high in the sky. I guess it's a good idea to plan for rain though...just in case. Good luck! I'll wish for sun for you!

I am getting married on 9/25/09 too, in North Carolina. I looked on the weather channel site and it's says a 60% chance and the accuweather site says sunny and beautiful!! I am freakin' out a little bit too!!

don't worry the weather changes daily twice a day.  For the longest time the weather was showing T-storm this friday, but i checked this morning and it shows sunny.  Don't worry until the day of.

I know this probably won't make you feel any better but since I live in WA I planned for rain. Instead we got recordbreaking heat. It was 87 on my reception day and of course my venue didn't have AC. By the time 6pm came around, my reception hall was ROASTING. Plus we had a potluck reception so with the oven going and all the chafing dishes and heating up of food going, it really didn't help. I was a big sweaty mess before we could even get through dinner. Looking back I should have prayed for rain or something!

The umbrella idea could be really cute and you could always rent a tent although they are a bit pricey depending on the size you need. Try not to panic and hopefully the weather will turn in your favor. *fingers crossed*

don't you have a planB?  when i booked my venue, the one thing we were concerned with an outdoor wedding was the planB.

get tents?  is there a place where you can move things inside??

hope it doesn't rain...just be prepared.

Anyone have the opposite problem?  I'm worried my day will be too hot!!  June in NC + outdoors = 100 degrees + humidity.  I definitely feel your stress regarding using the back up.  I'd be stressing!
