My fiance and I have been dating for over 5 years and have been living together for over 2. We own a home together. As you may assume we don’t need anything when it comes to wedding presents. I would love money to help pay for a honeymoon(it is probably the only way we could take one). I know there is no polite way of asking for money but I was wondering if any of you bees had any ideas on how to handle this! Thanks

@brentlyariel: I’ve been told that if you don’t register anywhere it implies you’d like money instead.

Don’t make a registry. People usually get the hint.

@brentlyariel: Ditto with the pp’s. It’s definitely not polite to outright ask for or say you prefer cash , in any way. If someone asks you what you need, you can tell them that you have all the household items that you need right now.
I wouldn’t mention the honeymoon. It is not supposed to be the responsibility of your guests to pay for your honeymoon.
Someone is sure to post about “Honeyfunds” but if you decide to go that route, be prepared for some negative reaction.

Agreed! Just don’t make a registry.
