I think that a framed photo for now would be a great idea! It does take a while to make an album and get it printed so I think they would understand.
I think this is a great gift idea for parents, and I don't see anything wrong with giving her a photo with an IOU. My mom would definitely love this as a gift, and love being asked for input even more.
Of course, if you go for it, you have to actually get the album done in a timely manner :)

I think it's great, especially if you let her "sign off" on the finished product. My mom and FMIL would both LOOOOVE this!
I think giving her a framed photo with the album to follow up is a great idea!

Yeah. The framed photo is fine with an IOU for the album.
I bet your Mom would love the framed photo! We didnt do our wedding albums yet so for Xmas I got them all collage framed photo's and 11x14's.
I gave my mom a framed photo in addition to an album. I think it's a great idea because she'll have it to display.
Actually, since my sister got married the year before me, I had her and my BIL's wedding photo framed with our wedding photo in a double frame so she could hang it on the wall. Then I also gave her a portrait of our immediate family taken at the wedding (I did the same for my inlaws).
She really likes having them out- people comment on them and she uses it as an excuse to whip out the album!

It is December 22, just a mere 3 days before Christmas. My older sister overheard my mom mention today that she is expecting to get a wedding album for Christmas. EEK! I remember vaguely mentioning this during the wedding planning stages, but haven't given it much thought since. I mean, we have been married over four months, and I still haven't made OUR wedding album!
And my other idea for my mom fell through, so I wish I had thought of this sooner!
Is it tacky to give her a framed photo from our wedding and tell her that the album is almsot finished, but I wanted to get her final opinions before I get it printed? (I've been working on it all day at work - hehe. But there is NO way it can get here before Christmas.)
Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas?
