Great post! Actually, I had the problem. I love the idea behind a chuppah, but also love he look of the bamboo arbor! For my beach wedding, I chose the bamboo arbor. However, I'm so indecisive that I might change my mind before May 15. My best advice is to go with which ever one compliments the theme of your wedding....
oohhhh nice option the bamboo arbor! are you making yours yourself? any step by step advice?
i absolutely love the look of the first picture and all the flowing fabric, and then the aisle just sets if off so beautifully for me. but then i also love the drift wood looking arch on here, and i know i could easily make it more beautiful with flowers or fabric if i wanted it would just be a royal pain to make and very heavy, not really able to transport anything like that over to where my wedding is.
We are having a really modern acrylic chuppah. LOVE IT! (getting married at a modern art museum). The columns are all clear plastic, with a white fabric square at the top. We're hanging really modern metal balls inside the clear columns.
This couple put different decoration than we would on the chuppah (we want to keep it really simple) but you get the idea!
OOh crayfish I love your chuppah!
Mine is going to be willow poles with white chiffon draping the top and the poles and little hanging globes with votives hanging down like fairy lights. I'm sooo excited!
I think even if you're not Jewish you can still have a chuppah. The symbolism is so lovely and there's no rule that says you can't borrow the tradition!
We had a Jewish ceremony and had a chuppah that was made for us by a friend of the family. Here are some pictures of it.
I love chuppahs. Here are a few that I've been obsessed with for a while. Not sure what we'll go with yet.
@anvil hmmm that's weird because i can see them on my computer. ok let me try something else.
We going with a canopy. We'll be making it this weekend, can't wait!!! It'll look something like this.
Hmm, I'm not sure whether our chuppah would be considered "modern" or "traditional," since I pretty much made it up as we went along. Here it is:

You can visit this web site www.prestigeweddingdecoration.com or visit their show room they have nice styles of Chuppah.
We had a faux pine arch wrapped with burlap and covered in paper flowers:

i dont know how to set up a poll otherwise i would.
my fiance and i were talking tonight about what we want set up at the end of the aisle. i prefer the look of a more chuppah sort of style. he however likes arches. neither of us are jewish. but we both love the symbolism behind it.
what are you doing for wedding, any photos?
