Hi!
I am planning on checking out Old Lantern next week. Are you having your wedding there? The consumption bar scares me a little, I would prefer a flat rate.
What did you decide with decorations?
Hi gwenhope3, welcome to Weddingbee!
We did decide to go with the Old Lantern. They include a lot with their venue price (flowers, candles, tablecloths and napkins, etc). The consumption bar is a bit scary but we're doing keg beer and house wine on us and guests pay for anything else they want. We are not doing additional decorations, the lighting company they recommend was out of our budget, I really wanted to have the lanterns though. So far they have been great to work with, let me know if you have any questions about the Old Lantern or anything else related to wedding planning in Vermont.
Good luck with planning!
We're getting married at the Old Lantern August 2011.
We were actually at a wedding there this past july and everything was perfect. My friend had nothing but glowing reviews of Lisa, their wedding coordinator.
So far everything has been ok. It was easy to secure the date...but I have been doing everything through email and telephone since I am in New Jersey. They cashed my deposit check, but I still don't have the wedding packet to go through everything. That's a little frustrating.

Hi All,
I was wondering if any Vermont brides have been to weddings at the Old Lantern in Charlotte? If so, any suggestions for decor? Or if you are doing a "rustic" wedding eslewhere, how are you decorating your venue?
Thanks!
