My only advice is to check out www.gigmasters.com.
This is how I found my steel drum band, but you can find just about any band or DJ in your area with reviews. I really enjoyed using the site and found it quite helpful. As for what you call a hybrid band, I've never heard of this, but I think quite a few bands will have an MC who can DJ the party during band breaks (which are usually 15 minutes and hour or so). You would probably just have to talk to them about what you are looking for. Good luck!

I am getting married at a synagogue in Boca.
I have come across alot of bands, but its just hard to judge from audio feeds on the website. I know I could go listen to some bands at the venues they play weather if its at bars, or whatever....just getting kind of antsy. Wedding is in October.
Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi ladies! Please help...trying to find decent wedding entertainment. I am getting married in October in Boca Raton.
There is something i have heard of between band and dj, called Hybrid bands...but cannot find them down here, has anyone ever heard of them?
Also, if you have bands performed/performing at your wedding, who are they, how did you find them, and if you don't mind sharing their cost...(even bands you didnt hire, did they share cost info).
All the bands I hear on the internet, sound super cheesey...ewww!
I want someone with a good voice, just to be able to play the classics!
