I’ve been a married woman for a few days now (WOOHOO), and the question of whether my band should be worn above or below my engagement ring just dawned on me. I’ve been wearing it above my engagement ring since the ceremony took place – and well, I kinda like it there!
I’m just curious to see how you ya’ll are rockin’ your sparklies!!??
Off to Kauai we go…..

I’m not married yet but I’ll be wearing my wedding band under my e-ring.

I wear mine on my right hand. I like my e-ring to stand alone. But I didn’t see that as an option until I already voted. I voted wrong. :/

If you’re wearing them on the same finger, traditionally the band goes on first with your e-ring above it.

I heard somewhere that it should be below, so it’s closer to your heart.

I have two bands and wear one on each side of my engagement ring, but if I had one I would wear it underneath.

I wear my wedding band below my engagement ring closest to the base of my finger.

I plan on wearing it below until our first child. Here’s my plan…I’m begging for a sparkly band as an early “push present,” that will be sized bigger so that I can wear it through all the pregnancy swelling. When I’ve returned back to my normal size post-pregnancy, I’ll wear wedding band on top, e-ring in middle, and the sparkly band below (the smaller e-ring and wedding ring will “lock in” the bigger sparkly band). A mother of a student gave me this pointer and wears her rings that way…love it!

I think it’s supposed to be below so that it’s closer to the heart.

We’re not married yet, but I’ll wear it under mine. I feel like it looks better that way with my e-ring.

I am with the majority. I wear mine closest to my heart.

Below the ering for me (eventuallY)…

I know that wearing your wedding band below is more traditional, but having the e-ring on top feels to me like the diamond is “escaping”. I like the band on top to “lock it down”. It feels more secure that way, although logically I know it doesn’t make a difference.

wedding band goes closer to your knucle

I wore mine above my e-ring for the first few days as well, I kind of liked how it looked, but after about a week I swapped it to below and have preferred it that way ever since.
My two favorite views on the topic:
Below: Your wedding ring is closest to your heart.
Above: Your engagement ring was given as a promise of a life together and the wedding band on top seals that promise.
