We are now just starting to look at wedding bands. We’ll be ordering ours soon and I have no idea of what to get engraved on ours (his); mine is going to be pretty thin, so I doubt they’ll be able to engrave anything on it?

We have not yet gotten to the Wedding rings – but in our Engagement rings (yes he also has an engagement ring) we had the follwing inscribed:
“Le mo ghrása mise” – In mine = ‘I am my beloved’s”
‘agus liomsa mo ghrá” – In his = ‘and my beloved is mine”
It is written in gaelic as there is a Scottish connection…
My band is not wide – and they managed to fit it in there! Have something that means something to you 🙂

@Angkinah: that’s really cool. Are you having a Scottish/Jewish wedding? I am my beloveds, and my beloved is mine is something we say/use traditionally at Jewish weddings (in Hebrew, Ani L’Dodi, V’Dodi Li). It’s from Song of Songs. Anyways, that’s really neat.
We were also thinking of using that same phrase. I also thought about: When I go forth to find you, I find you seeking me (that’s what will be on our ketubah, but in Hebrew). That would be split up between our 2 rings as well. But we haven’t decided and I would love to see what other’s are engraving on their rings. I need some ideas!

@RhubarbPie: Oh wow I love that saying of yours…..
No neither of us is Jewish – but my fathers side is Scottish and I lived in Scotland also and his roots trace back to Irish Celtic even though he is American! We have the Celtic Triquetra on our rings too 🙂
We are thinking of a celtic theme to the wedding only because at the moment he is edging towards having it over in a Castle in either Scotland or Ireland!
Good luck on finding something for your rings – I love having an inscription

My best friend had her finger print in his, and his in hers. Very unique!

@Angkinah: Hi! How wide is your band? I would assume that they can choose a very small font to do the inscription.
For those of you with engraving, did you have to think about it or was it just a “no brainer?” We kind of have an inside joke that may seem cute now, but may not later.

Our engagement rings have little yellow gold infinity symbols on them (the setting is white gold), and we often say”To infinity and beyond” from Toy Story for all sorts of various things. In light of that, we’re just oing to have “…and beyond!” engraved on the bands, which are 4mm.

I engraved some lyrics from one of our favorite songs inside DH’s ring:
“Home is wherever I’m with you”

To be loved is important-to be understood is profound.
Then Kay does a “piece of my heart” where they set a tiny ruby on the inside of the ring. Can’t feel it.
I have no idea what he’s putting in mine!

we put our initials with an infinity sign between – symbolizing our link forever!

We’re both getting IX-XXII-XII engraved on the inner side of our bands. I’m also putting his name in mine and vice-versa.

‘At Last’ we are using the song by Etta James for our first dance and we used ‘At Last’ on our invites. I have always loved that song and it just feels right, not to mention it is short and sweet and will fit on both our bands.

I don’t know if it counts, but me and SO have promise rings he had made for us that say “I love you” and “I know”
We’re star wars nerds

@shambley: i got us matching heart keychains engraved with that quote for valentines day last year. my husband recently lost it in the grocery store and walked up and down each aisle to find it saying it was the nices thing he owned. i about melted thinking that a cheap ten dollar gift was his most prized posession just because of the sentiment. we found it in the parking lot eventually!
our rings have “we belong together” from our ritchie valens wedding song.
