Bee’s , I need help figuring out what type of wedding band I should get for my FI. He is a hard working hands on guy and his ring would get scuffed up very easily. Any suggestions what type of metal he should get? Or what type your purchased for you Fi or Hubby ?

I bought DH’s ring from Titanium Knights on Etsy. He really loves his ring, although he doesn’t wear it at work (he’s a contractor) because it would be dangerous. It was also inexpensive enough that if he takes it off for work and loses it, we can replace it a few times without breaking the bank 😉

Have you looked at matte metal rings with hammered finishes? That way no matter what happens to it, it’ll still look like part of the design 🙂
Here’s a hammered titanium ring as an example:

I’ve been looking at cobalt. I learning they are stronger and more scratch resistant than titanium. Lighter too.

Look at Triton tungsten carbide rings. My FI’s ring came from them. He’s a mechanic and really rough on jewelry. Triton has a lifetime warranty. If it is broken, damaged, scratched, or needs to be resized you send in the ring, and they will send you a brand new one.

If you are saying he’s hard working hands on guy and his ring would get scuffed up very easily then I you should go with tungsten. FI and I are looking at rings from http://www.larsonjewelers.com/ and they say they’re the best metal to get if you want to avoid scratches. We haven’t gotten them yet, but I’m sure it’s the way to go.
