Ok so my fiancé and I are going to order our wedding bands on Friday and I’m still undecided if I want 1 or 2 bands. My ring has a split shank micro pave setting.
My first option is one band. I like the simplicity of the single wedding band but I’m afraid it gets lost behing the engagement ring.
My other option is purchasing two bands and having them soldered together. I like this because when the two rings are pushed together they match the double row of diamonds on my engagement ring. My only concern is that it would overpower my engagement ring.
My last option (I don’t have a picture) would be two bands but wear one on each side of my engagement ring. I wasn’t thrilled at how this looked when i tried it on though.
Option #1- one single band
Option #2- solder the bands together

ansmith1530: I love option 2-I think it looks great and you can better see them as wedding rings and separate-in the first picture-although lovely also the one band gets a little lost

Loooooooove the 2 bands!! It matches so well with your split shank as you say. I love mixed metals so I would actually make your wedding bands in rose gold, to stand out a little 😉

I would go a different route altogether.
There are bands on the market, that look just like the ones you are wearing in the pictures, but which are V-shaped on the top, just like the two sides of your e-ring.
If you can get one of those, you could solder it directly to your e-ring. Not only would this look really nice, but you would also get the benefit of less wear, since the rings are not rubbing against each other.

ansmith1530: I agree with Scintillante I think 2 bands, one band in rose gold nearest your ERing would look stunning

linnylou_88: Dirk: I love rose gold! I didn’t even think about using rose for the bands. I know the jeweler didn’t have any rose in stock of the designer of my ering But maybe they could order it!

ansmith1530: Make sure that it’s solid rose gold and not plated!

Ooh, yes! You should get a rose gold band, that would look amazing!

ansmith1530: How about trying on different style of wedding bands other than an eternity band? I had the same issue before such that my husband thought my wedding band was not obvious and got lost behind my engagement ring, so he gave me an anniversary ring after our first year. It was wider and does not match my engagement ring, but I think it gave it a little character and distinction. Here’ how mine looks.
