The proper way is under it right? I want mine above. I like the idea that the engagement ring came first and intend to keep it on for the ceremony and add the band on top.

@MrsBlah:  Thanks! They are half eternity but the diamonds go round a bit further on my engagement ring (not a matching set). Im not married yet, but I’m from nz and I dont think soldering is very big over here, so I probably won’t get them soldered. I had to look up what you were talking about! Haha

I love your set too! Did you get them together?

I grew up seeing all the married women wear their wedding bands “closest to the heart,”  I found it romantic… so I will be continuing that tradition.

I wear my wedding ring under the engagement ring so it’s closest to my heart. (Husband is getting me a second band for our 5 year anniversary so it will then be symetrical~because I’m neurotic like that). I had the soldered so as not to damage either ring.

It’s interesting to me that people always comment on the “proper” or “traditional” way things are done. There’s no such thing as proper, and tradition is SO relative. Just an observation, not saying anything is wrong. The only thing that I resent is when people feel the need to inform me in person that my ring is on the wrong hand or in the wrong place, grr!

Myself, I’ve decided that I’m going to wear just a band, alone, post-wedding. Haven’t decided what hand yet… traditionally in my culture it’s worn on the right, but I do live in Canada so I’m not sure what to do. I frequently wear my e-ring on my right hand, and for some reason that reeeally bothers other people. :/
