This is a personal preference…for me it would bug the crap out of me since I stare at my set all day long. LOL. My ering and wedding band have the same quality diamonds in them, and my Darling Husband even made sure they wouldn’t look too warm next to my center stone so they are all about the specs.

@mylittleviolett:  I’ll have to show yours to my Fiance – we thought we were being so clever and unique with a Round Brilliant Purple Sapphire, havn’t quite found my Ring Twin yet – but yours is close! ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t tell a difference from the picture but it would bother me in real life. Most of the wedding bands I have tried on while on the search for one look yellow or cloudy next to my center diamond, which bugs me.

@mylittleviolett:  Actually, I just call it purple (I don’t know what jewler would call it) – but it is quite colour-change – it even sometimes looks radically pink.

I agree that we have very different stones, though. ‘Grats to us both!

I see a slight difference.

I personally want my set to match. I do not like the mix matched ones at all.  But that’s my personal taste, to each their own.

To me the difference in band style makes the difference in stone quality rather unnoticeable.  I can’t see much difference in your picture; part of it may be that the channel set band allows less light in than your other band, so the stones are going to face up differently.

i don’t think it looks bad at all. personally, i can’t really see a huge difference, but i’m also not as knowledgable about diamonds as most people on here are. like, people ask me what the carat, clarity, or whatever is for my ring and i’m like, “don’t know. don’t care.” lol.

my rings match (from what i can tell, lol), but there is one diamond in my e-ring that is a little bit darker than the rest and it bugs me a little bit, so i can see how having a mismatched set could bother you. but like i said before, i don’t think it looks bad and i can’t really see a significant difference.

I see a slight difference – I like them, though. It’s not noticeable enough that I’d worry about it too much – they look great together.

Thinking back, a similar thing happened with me. When I put my wedding band next to my e-ring for the first time, I hated the difference – but it was because my e-ring was long-worn and needed a good cleaning. Once they’d both been ‘worn’ for a while, they ended up moulding together. ๐Ÿ™‚ The more you wear them together, the more they look like they’re meant to be that way – mismatched or not!
