i have found the wedding band that i want, but was wondering – when did everyone purchase their bands? we’re not getting married until august, so i feel like i might be jumping the gun a bit. is it too early to purchase now? maybe purchase now, but don’t pick up until closer to the time? not exactly sure how this works – feedback would be appreciated!

Our wedding was in October but we purchased our bands in June. I sent mine off in August to get sized and soldered to my engagement ring. I wanted to be ablet to check off something on my list and since we knew what we wanted….I wore another ring hubby had purchased me until the wedding since I had my rings soldered together so early.

Our Wedding isnt till May and we purchased them in January cuz they was a sale.
I was going to buy them a month prior, but hey I took the sale as a sign! and one less thing to worry about.

I had my custom made to match my engagement ring. We met with the jewler in March (we were married in August) and started the process. It took about 2 months and then we took our rings home. If you have already found the ring you want, I do not see any harm in purchasing it now.

I bought the one I fell in love with! We got mine 7 months before the wedding and DH’s 5 months before.

I purchased my wedding ring almost a year before our wedding. We went looking because I wanted to see about what it would cost and just fell in love with something. My FMIL is keeping it in her safe till the wedding. I feel much better with it not just sitting in my underwear drawer since it will be sitting around for so long before the wedding.

I got mine 11 months in advance. We wanted to get the band at the same place FI bought my e-ring, which located near his sister and three hours away from where we live. We visited his sister in June, found one I liked and just bought it then.
We got FI’s in August. We weren’t in a rush for his but I think he was jealous I had mine and he didn’t have his.

I wish I didn’t rush.
I rushed into buying my ring because I thought it was the best I could find in my budget (I was hell bent on shopping at local retailers only). then about 8 months later, I decided to wear the ring around the house for fun. after a couple of days of staring at it, I realized I didn’t like it very much and it was too late to return it!
after that, I found tons more sources where I could have bought my ring. prevously, I was not open to shopping online, but then later I realized that it would have been fine. I had set a tight budget. if I had looked online, I would have found the ring style I really wanted and it would have fit in my budget (esp if I had chosen moissanite).
bottom line: I wish I had shopped around a lot more- in stores and online and felt like I had truly exausted my options before making the final purchase. also, I wish I had “tested” out my ring at home before the return policy expired!

@janie-janie: good idea – will definitely want to wear the ring a little bit around the house, to make sure i still like it once the glitz and excitement of trying it on have worn off

My wedding’s in November & I’ll be purchasing ours next week- I don’t think it’s too early at all if you’ve both found one you love (and have done your research). Personally, I’ll breath a sigh of relief when it’s been taken care of- one less thing to do Per the PP’s sugestion, DO ‘test’ it out- I’m buying online & have 30 days, so you can bet I will! Good luck.
