I like the second one because it matches but it is different so it won't just blend in with your e-ring.
I love the second one! It's lovely! I think it would look great with your ering! Also I think that one makes more of an impact on it's own, if there was ever a time when you didn't want to wear your ering. It's just more interesting than the first...
Also I want to say I LOVE your ering! Love rose gold!
The second one! Love rose gold and I am also not a matchy matchy person and I think its beautiful!
I think I like the unique one, but something to consider...
The unique band looks like it will sit taller on your finger, that might mean that it there will be a gap or that the stones could rub on one another when worn with your e-ring. I was looking at similar unique options and my jeweler basically told me that if I wanted a thicker/taller band, then it would need to have a notched shape to allow for the stone of my e-ring.
Thanks guys!
@Pwitty: You're right, that is something to consider. I will probably ask that they make it as low as possible, but it still might be high enough to bump into the prongs (although I do have probably about 2mm of "clearance" since they taper in). If it looks like anything will be knocking into each other, I think I will probably just wear a spacer inbetween for protection, and not worry about the gap. Gaps are ok by me :)
@littlemissmango: I voted for the unique band, but honestly I would get both if money wasn't an issue! I LOVE the second one! It's stunning! But I have to agree that there is a chance that you might not love it with your e-ring, even if the wedding band is beautiful by itself. I vote that you buy both, because if you end up not loving the unique band with your e-ring you can have it as a beautiful RHR and still have the matching (and safe) ritani band for the wedding set. :] Love your choices, your rings will be absolutely lovely together, whatever you choose.
I'm indecisive and they're both gorgeous so I think if you can afford it you should get both :)
You E-Ring is absolutely amazing though! WOW
Oh man, I knew I was gonna get some enablers!! ;) Well, uh, lots of people have two wedding bands, right?? Yeah, that's what I'll tell FI. Heh. I think I might just have to go through with buying those stones and having the band made. If the final product won't work with my ring, oy, I guess I'll have to get the matching one also. Thanks for the advice Kat and Penguini and for the sweet compliments. :)
OP, I LOVE your rose gold ring. Just wanted to say that :)
@tiny tuna: Aw thanks! FI is amazing, he picked it all on his own. :)
I love the look of non-matching sets and somestimes the non-matching sets are the ones that can actually look better than the matching. I walked into my jeweler completely thinking I would get the matching band but walked out with something totally different that looked better with my ring!
So! I say go for the custom bezel setting. If you are worried about the width of the engagement ring and wedding band being too different you can ask the etsy seller if they are willing to use smaller diamonds and that will shrink the width of the wedding band to better match you engagement ring. I like the wedding band to be slightly larger than the engagement ring personally. My e-ring is 1.8mm and the band is being made to 2mm.
@Aug2011Bride: That is a really good point. Maybe I should look for even smaller stones and see about making it smaller than 3mm. Although, it could lose the look of the chunky facets since the stones wouldn''t be big enough to see those details if it's closer to 2mm. Maybe I should try wearing a 3mm band with my ring to see if the width difference bugs me? I kinda think I'm like you though in that I like bands to be noticeably wider (or noticeablly thinner, if you have a wide e-ring.) Hmm.. wish I could just try each of these on to see!
Aww!! He has good taste!
I really wanted something in rose gold, but it's so hard to find around here, especially 18 k and my FI prefered it to the 14 (he is so picky, in a good way)
It's so amazing to hear about all the guys hunting for perfect rings for their loved ones.
I definitely want to get a rose gold right hand ring some time down the road.
Enjoy your ring and we wouldn't mind seeing more pics :)
@littlemissmango: First, your engagement ring is so beautiful! I actually really love both bands, especially the Etsy one- I've never seen one quite like that. I agree with @Pwitty: about the height of it. I purchased a mismatchy band that sits pretty high, & for that reason I'm having them soldered together to make sure the band sits slightly lower or at least even to my ering (also because it's 3/4 & the twisting would drive me nuts). I don't think you can go wrong with these choices really. I hope you'll post photos of whatever you choose!
I voted for the unique one because it sounds like that's the one you really want. :)
If you love the other one.. thats the one you should get!
No competition for me! That custom bezel is stunning, and would really look beautiful with tha beautiful (rose gold--yay!) ering. I think the matching band is just a little too matching...at least for my taste. Go for your uniqueness!
Mine fit well together, but they are not matching. But my band has black diamonds and so does my fiances. So they kind of match!
@littlemissmango: I like sets that co-ordinate but aren't completely matched. What did you go with?
Also, your engagement ring is absolutely beautiful!! Does it have a name/style number I can look up? I'm a bee in waiting and would love to take a closer look at this style!

I guess I'm still quite a ways out from really needing to make this decision, but lately I've been thinking a lot about my future wedding band. I'm torn between the band that is meant to go with my ring, and a custom band based on this amazing bezel eternity ring I'm obsessed with.
This is what my e-ring looks like:
Here's the matching band (it would be made in rose gold, like my e-ring):
Pros:
- I already know what it will look like -- the shank of my e-ring, which I love and is very dainty and pretty.
- It is very thin, the exact same width as my e-ring (about 1.5 mm), so it definitely wouldn't take away from the e-ring. It would just blend in and look very classy.
Cons:
- I just don't know that I'm a very matchy-matchy kinda girl. I like unique things. Maybe such an important ring should reflect that.
Here is this amazing band I fell in love with, that if I chose it would actually be recreated (similarly, but not exactly) by an Etsy seller who I've already contacted and is willing to do it. Sorry, Leon Mege, I don't feel like shelling out $7,500 for a wedding band.
It would also be made in rose gold, to match my e-ring, and would have antique old mine cut stones in it.
Pros:
- So unique. It's very much my style.
- It still "matches" in that it will be rose gold, and the stones will be slightly cushion-shaped, matching my cushion center stone.
- I seriously found a parcel of antique OMCs on ebay in the exact size and I'm pretty sure the exact amount that I would need. They're amazing. Is this a sign?!
Cons:
- The band would be about twice the thickness of the shank of my e-ring, at least 3 mm. I've seen sets where the wedding band is bigger and I do like that look, but it could potentially take the focus away from my e-ring/center stone, since I don't have a massive rock that it couldn't compete with.
- There's a chance the rose gold won't be the exact same shade, and there's a chance that could bug me.
So, what do you guys think? What are your thoughts on matching vs. not, when it comes to wedding sets? And what would be your pick for mine?
