Hey Steenie! Since I noticed you're in Denver, I thought I'd recommend my make-up artist. Her name is Liz Boyle and she's the regional manager for Bobbi Brown! She's awesome. Mrs. Cookie also used her for her wedding in Breckenridge. PM me if you're interested in getting in touch with her! She did my trial in Colorado Springs but seems to move around between there and Nordstroms near Denver quite a bit.
I had the makeup lady come to my hotel room the day of the wedding. I had my hair done there as well, and after my hair was done, I got started on my makeup right away. My mom had her hair and makeup done as well, so it was kind of a little beauty assembly line :)
She brought all her own stuff, a makeup chair and a light. It took about 45-50 minutes and she did an amazing job. I had fake eyelashes put on and they looked fabulous! I highly recommend them for your big day, because they photograph very well and if they're done by a professional, they look natural :)
The fewer places you have to travel the morning of the wedding, the better. If you're able to, have EVERYONE come to you. You should ideally go from your getting ready location to the ceremony location, so you're not stressed making it from appointment to appointment at different places.
Hope that helps!
I used Danica Jardien from Make-up Envy. She lives on the southern part of Denver. She used to work at MAC but now she just has her own business. You can see some pictures of my makeup on my bio. I loved her work and she was the sweetest thing! http://www.make-upenvy.com/
Thanks for all your suggestions. Do you think its too early to start looking for a hair and make up person now for a Sept wedding? I kinda of have an idea of what I would like for a hairstyle but I havent found a picture yet
I got mine done at Aveda Institute (not Aveda Academy!) on Market Street. The trial was $35, and the day of was $75. I think the makeup artist's name was Crystal--she did a great job, I was really thrilled.
I wouldn't worry about looking too early. I didn't book mine until April for a June wedding.
