I’ve started getting regular facials, and am also keen to hear about what others have been doing or done. Also, what worked and what was a waste of money…

msmeow13 :  So, the simplest thing you can do is get enough rest. No amount of lotion is going to make up for missing out on rest. Drink lots of water, too.

I like to take green tea bags, get them wet and then put them in the freezer. After they’re nice and cold I put them on my eyes for 5 minutes or so. Antioxidants, and the cold works to firm up the skin. Also, I do a detox face mask every other weekend. This stuff is pretty inexpensive and leaves my skin all glowy and soft

But really. Minimize stress. Go for a walk. Drink lots of water. Get your rest.

Drink water! Everyday make sure that you drink 1,5lt water.  You will see the changes immediately. Don’t purchase expensive face masks. Use 100% rose water as tonic. It works with every skin. Cucumber skin can be used as a mask. Stop drinking beer.

msmeow13 :  I had a deep cleanse one last weekend, and she has put me down for something else next month that apparently will target my particular concerns. I love how my skin feels and looks this week, but tbh, even if it did nothing, the massage and relaxation time alone is worth it!

I’ve been getting facials once per month since March (my wedding is in September) and my skin has greatly improved. I used to have mild acne, but now I don’t get any pimples anymore. She does a skin analysis each time so she can target my skin’s needs. I’m going to continue to get facials after the wedding, because I love the results, and it’s very relaxing.

Depending on where you live, investing in a good vaporizer (or two or three) for your bedroom can make a world of difference.  I read once that the average midwestern house has a relative humidity lower than the Sahara Desert in the winter when we have our forced-air furnaces on.  I used to just keep one humidifier in my room – this last year, since one of my cats just started dropping skin in bloody chunks (lots of scars, long story, this happens every time it’s unusually dry) I went a little overboard, got multiple whole-house humidifiers as well as multiple vaporizors to keep in my bedroom (where the cat also slept).  And lo!  Not only did it help the cat’s skin, but it did wonders for mine.  They have yet to invent the facial lotion I can use without getting hives, so I’ve always used moisturizers sparingly, and suddenly I could get by only using it once a week or so, even in the winter.  I imagine if you live in a place where you have to constantly run AC the principle would be the same.  Treat your environment, not just your body!

I switched to an anti acne body wash to be sure no random zits popped up on my back.

I also used Korean sheet masks 3-4 times a week and right before my wedding. I highly recommend them, they’re very soothing! I got them for all my bridesmaids and my mom too and it eliminates redness and temporarily plumps up your skin so pores, lines, etc… are less visible.

I get mine off Amazon, I will only use either etude house or my beauty diary. My beauty diary is the most popular one. All the different “flavors” seem to work about the same, it’s mostly just a difference in scent.

I dived into the whole K-Beauty routine, with no regrets!

My face is clearer now than it’s ever been, and definitly smoother too. The Korean products are cheap too, which are a plus as well. Everything I use can be found on Amazon.

I also love using the Korean Sheet Masks. I love any with propolis if I’m having some minor blemishes, and I use a shea butter one for when my skin is feeling dry.
