- Wedding: June 2013
Hello fellow bees,
My husband and I have been married for almost a year. At the time that we were trying to plan our wedding, a lot of things happened that made us decide to just get married out of the courthouse. Of course this was not what either of us wanted. We both wanted to plan our wedding and enjoy every aspect of it. We both have a lot of regrets as to how it all happened. Even the proposal.
On the day of our wedding, we went to the courthouse and the ceremony seemed to be over even before it started. I don’t even remember the vows or anything because the judge ran through them so quickly. My husband couldn’t get out of work that day because he had just started a new job and had to be there right after the ceremony. After the quick trip to the courthouse, we had a fastfood breakfast and then I spent the day with my mom. After my husband got out of work, our families went out to eat at a local restaurant where everyone paid for their own food. I so regret doing it this way, but at the time, we were really tight on money and my mom was pressuring us on having the wedding the way she wanted (she can be very stubborn). We both just wanted to be married and start our lives together.
At the time, we both thought it would be okay just to have a real wedding later on in a year or so. Now that I’m starting to plan the wedding, I’m not so sure we should even have one anymore. My husband thinks we should and he says that I shouldn’t worry what others think. I am because my whole side of the family came to our previous “wedding” and I’m kind of worried what they would think. Plus, I have been reading online and have seen a few bloggers have strong feelings towards having another wedding. I need opinions!
