Is anyone feeling like me? We’re on a small budget and want to plan a vow renewal aka ‘wedding” We have been searching high and low at all kinds of venues. We have found that we “like” but the venue that we want (mostly me) is a little bit aout of budget. We can afford it but do not want to spend all that money in one day(quilt). Our priority are to be able to invite as many people we want(big family), food and an unique venue. We found the place but the price sucks!, any advice

The budget always sucks the fun out of it!

@brokeninnj: If you are dead set on the venue, you may need to wait longer to save up the money. Otherwise, have you considered having your wedding during the morning, in the off season or on a Sunday? If you do a brunch or lunch wedding, it is often cheaper. Having it in the off season (Oct-April) you can save money as well.

Sometimes off-season will save you money, but I’ve been noticing lately that alot of places aren’t considering October/November offseason anymore.
If you really love the venue and you don’t think you’d be happy with having it elsewhere, then I say go for it!
The venue itself wasn’t super important for me, but the ceremony venue was. I wanted great pictures. I did have to sacrifice with a not-so-great reception venue.

You say it’s a “little bit” out of budget. Can you pick up some more shifts at work or a weekend gig for a little bit to help save for the venue?
And yea, budgeting sucks! I pretty much hate that word by this point of my wedding planning.
