mainly, we’re not including anything that we will use again:

shoes b/c i’ll wear ’em again

camera for DIY photobooth b/c i had been wanting to buy a DSLR for a few years now and we’ll get lots of use out of it.

our rings b/c we’ll wear them the rest of our lives

gifts b/c didn’t want to feel limited on how we showed our gratitude although i found a great deal on cute clutches for the girls.

and my dress because my mom paid for most of it and i plan to sell it

We’re kind of in the same boat.  We’ll sell what we can after the wedding to another budget bride.  So, stuff like decor might get 50% back of what we spent.  The dress I won’t sell.  If I part with it, it will be to give it away to another bride on a tight budget.

My family isn’t expecting gifts because my Fiance and I are paying for the wedding ourselves, and we aren’t having a wedding party, either.

It’s amazing how far a tight budget can go when it’s all you have to work with.  Just have to think outside the box a little.

We added everything we could think of. Why wouldn’t you? Honeymoon we did not include because that is not necessary if we cannot afford it.

Ours is really confusing

My parents are together but are paying for stuff seperate

My dad gave us 8k that i am using on

  • Food
  • Photog
  • Invites
  • 1/2 Trip to Bahamas
  • also some home upgrades
  • a few decor things here & there

My mom paid for my dresses & some decor because she is a florist

FH’s mom is paying for the DJ

and his clothes/ shoes

So the only thing I really have a budget for is my dads money. I buy stuff here and there with my own money just to save money from my dad so we can have a a bigger chunk left over after the wedding. Ive paid for my 6 pairs of shoes, FH bought my wedding band I bought his. Ive been buying decor here and there.

I think this totally depends on how you want to look at it.  We included everything that would go into our ceremony and reception (including attire).  We did not include any gifts or picture printing for later.  Also we paid for our rings and honeymoon.

Things we did not include:

(1) rings (mine are both heirloom, and I figure his won’t cost very much because he is likely to get a traditional gold band)

(2) honeymoon (this will come out of our typical “travel” money for the year since we won’t have time to take any other real, non-weekend, vacations in 2011)

(3) extra night of our suite (we will stay there the night before the wedding even though we are local so that we can hang out with my family a little more)

(4) day after activity –  since we are getting married on a friday, we are renting a huge party bus for all our younger friends on saturday night for a night out on the town.

(5) rehersal dinner – his parents are taking care of it.

Things we did include: venue, ceremony venue cost, valet parking, month of coordinator, photog, string quartet for ceremony, DJ, photobooth, A/V costs, chairs for ceremony, decor (uplighting, etc), flowers, invitations (including caligraphy), save the dates, postage for everything, attire for both of us, hair/makeup, out of town bags and favors.

ETA: we did not include our gifts to each other, but the photog amount does include our two, 8×8 replica albums that we are gifting to both sets of parents.

We included everything unless our parents or my grandma gifted it to us. We had a seperate budget for the honeymoon.

We included everything because we were WAY under budget because we DIYd everything except clothing and presents.

We have a really small budget ($6,000) and we’re paying for everything ourselves, so we’re including EVERYTHING, including things like FI’s suit (which he really needed to buy anyway).

The only thing we aren’t including is the honeymoon since it’s not really part of the wedding (it’s just the fun bit afterwards Wink).  Also, we would have taken a vacation anyway, so it seems weird to include it in our budget when we have a separate vacation budget already.

We included everything (Honeymoon, Rings, Rehearsal dinner, BM/GM gifts), I think its really easy to convince yourself you didnt spend “that” much money when you start leaving things off. I think the only thing we don’t currently have on there is our gifts to eachother.

We’re including every possible item I can think of – why not?  I want to know how much this is all really going to cost so I can keep it under control.  The only thing not included is our honeymoon because we can’t take one due to work. 🙁
