    Hi all -

I am looking for recommendations for a fantastic wedding cake place in/near Philly. My family lives in Haverford and we are getting married in Bryn Athyn - so anywhere near either location would be fantastic!

I did contact Aux Petits Delicious - however I wasn't sure that we "meshed" on the phone. If anyone has had a great experience with a place, please let me know!

    Thanks!

We just had a great experience with Doughmain Baked Goods in Bryn Mawr.

We are using the Night Kitchen in Chapel Hill area.  Their fondant actually tastes good.  :  )

For my birthday cake last year, I used Miel Patisserie, and it was a two tier fondant cake.  I just described what I wanted to them over the phone, and they got it perfect!!  It was exactly what I had envisioned, and I didn't even show them any pictures, so I'm sure that if you bring a picture there or look through their samples, you'll get a very high-quality cake.

As for the taste...it was fantastic.  The cake was frozen, so we had to give it time to thaw, but I don't think it lost any flavor or texture from being frozen.  It was moist, the filling was delicious, and the fondant wasn't bad.  It's a little rubbery, but what fondant isn't, really?

I went to the one in Cherry Hill on route 70, but I've heard great things about their center city location as well.

    Good luck!
