Any other different wedding cake toppers besides the traditional husband & wife? :)
Etsy has tons of sellers that make different ones! all sorts of animals, icons, etc! Ours was made after our video game characters!

My FH is making ours out of stainless steele and he is making inter twinning hearts.
How cute! I'll def look at Etsy. And the intertwinning hearts sounds adorable! Thanks :)
I found an adorable etsy shop that does non-traditional cake toppers. I find traditional bride-and-groom toppers to be uninspiring and just all look the same, or tacky (the bride dragging the groom by the scruff of the neck?? REALLY? THAT'S how you want to be represented on your wedding day??!)
I just fell in love with the elephants (also, personal story - my FI's mother passed away last year and her favourite animals were elephants, so yeah. It felt right).
My brother and his wife gifted us ours. Our names are Adam and Eva, so that was our theme. Our topper was sculpted to look like us.

We're doing a crystal monogram topper also. Including shipping, ours was less than $30 (which was the main reason I bought it-- lol).
@bebefly: I think we are using the same etsy seller and doing monkeys! My FI has a monkey tattoo that I got him when we had been dating for three months (haha, oh young love) and we have a lot of monkey stuffed animals (I swear, he buys them too, its not just me!). We are also getting married a zoo. The other random thing we have a lot of is flamingos, but I cant find any cute flamingo cake toppers. I was going to see if she would custom make some for us... Although I'm pushing hard for the monkeys.
We are having our baker make 7 large air brushed roses to top our cake.
We got engaged in Disneyland so we're thinking of having Mickey and Minnie as our cake topper

We're doing sugar calla lilies on top of ours. I don't like the look of a lot of cake toppers, it's way too easy to drift into tacky/cheesy land. I like the letter ones though.
@RayRayFurious: Thank you! it was a really fun theme; we may not have thought of it if people didn't always point it out and comment on it.
We just ordered ours, and I really like what we decided to do.
We ordered a personalized crystal-cut glass ornament that will hang from an ornament stand on top of the cake. It will say:
His name & My name
Last name
June/11/2011
Then, after the wedding, we can use it every Christmas on our Christmas tree! I like the idea that it is reusable. I had a hard time swallowing the idea of getting a topper that I wouldn't have anything to do with after the wedding is over.
I made ours after I fell in love with similar ones on etsy but couldn't afford the price tag :)
I had a whole bunch. I love cake, LOL!
These are salt and pepper shakers from Pier One I got for like $4 a couple years ago.

Left: Dog salt and pepper shakers gifted to me from the little chinese shop I bought all our lanterns from. So sweet.
Centre: Vintage bride/groom I got a Value Village for $0.69
Right: Lobsters (a la Friends) that I made with fimo clay

Don't have any photos of these on the cake just yet, but I made these ones and they went on our mini cake beside our cupcakes.

We have a travel theme, so our topper is a set of suitcases with our initials. Purchased on Etsy.
Mine was from LMax on Etsy or Ebay... he also has a site,
He is super cheap and so fast... Here is us on our wedding day.... I thought i was going to do my hair down but decided to do it up at last min... everything was customized... even our doggy

And then our cake topper :)

I found a ton of cute cake toppers on Etsy when I was searching for mine. I eventually went with a set from Naked Paggies, and we were *very* pleased with the results. They were also quite affordable.
When I was searching, I also found these cool robots, but they were a bit out of my price range. The same was true for Kikuike's shop. You may have a little more room in your budget for cake toppers than I do, though, and if so these are very cute! Garden 4 Arts also has adorable animal cake toppers, but at a more affordable price. I also thought these mice were adorable!
Sweetpixiepie from Etsy made my caketopper! She did SUCH a great job! Can't wait to show it off at our spring wedding! :)

@MissBabeski We also got engaged at Disneyland! Here's the Mickey and Minnie cake topper we chose.
I found the one we are using by a vendor on Etsy and Wedding Bliss Lane called AffordableCakeToppers. My cousin used them for her wedding so I have seen her work up close. It is a crystal initial like this one

Here is our cake topper by dearjes on etsy. The outside of our cake layers will look like birch bark.

I made ours out of a $5 cake topper from Party City.
BRAINSSS. lol.

@M.Ruder: So cute! A friend is going to make us our Miis for our cake topper :)
I like fresh flowers. But I also found brushed nickel/pewter toned letters in a clearance bin at hobby lobby ... craft stores are always great for inspiration... and I was able to spell out mr & mrs (our last name)... I'm not sure how I'll use them yet, but I think itll be incorporated either as a cake topper (just mr & mrs... or just the & sign) or somehow on the cake table.
@Blueshoes2 : Those are so cute!!!! About a year before our engagement I asked FI if he'd be my penguin. Of course he didn't get what I was talking about, and I must admit I heard the story in "Never Been Kissed" (my favorite movie btw). Well I explained it to him, and on our 3rd year anniversary he got me a card with a penguin on it and inside, "will you be my penguin? I want to be yours" :) We got engaged a week later. He still makes penguin references. :)
@Belle2Be: Ha. Not really a story. We're just huge dorks. We got married at Halloween, so we figured we'd incorporate that by putting in one of our favorite movie genres, zombie movies! Our table numbers were posters from different zombie movies as well. Im a little zombie obsessed. Books, movies, Ive gone to seminars on surviving the zombie apocalypse, meetings of the St Louis chapter of the Zombie Squad. lol.... Yeah....
@jo.lee: Thanks!
@Nati-Lyte: Thanks! That's such a cute story :) I love penguins too - and they happen to be the mascot of my DH's favorite NHL team!
