Where in KY are you looking? I have some great recommendations for Lexington and have some contacts in Louisville.
I'm in Louisville and I used Simply Cakes by Dana. She is awesome and very creative. You can see examples of her work all over her website at simplycakesbydana.com, and the best part is that she only charges $2 per slice. There are a couple of really cool gourmet flavors that she charges .25 extra for if you should choose those or fillings are also extra. Other than that everything is included. The cakes are frosted in buttercream (yummy!) but she can do details with fondant. Here is a picture of my cake, it was a total of $200 for 75 slices including a $50 delivery fee.
she really works with you to figure out what cake will match your personality and she loves creating unique cakes. I could not recommend her more!
If you're up for cupcakes, I cannot reccoment Trisha at Babycakes Cupcakes (in Lexington) enough. Her work is incredibly delicious and she has a funky vibe with her flavors and her buttercreme icing is simply the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. http://www.bb-cakes.com/

I AM ALSO USING SIMPLY CAKES BY DANA! SHE IS FABULOUS. SHE DID MY SISTERS WEDDING AND WILL BE DOING MINE IN SEPTEMBER. SHE WILL WORK WITH YOU AND DOESN'T CHARGE EXTRA FOR DECORATIONS OF DIFFERENT FLAVORS. SHE CAN MAKE WHATEVER YOU WANT! SHE HAS OREO CAKE WITH OREO FILLING! AWESOME! TRY HER!
