Its technically $4/piece but that’s when we actually had 100 people coming. Now we only have 60 and are having the same size cake.

NotFroofy made our wedding cake, so the only cost was for the ingredients.  Of course, she spent the whole summer before the wedding testing out different flavors, which added to the cost.  But then again, we got to eat all that cake.  😉

We are doing a buttercream cake with 125 servings and 25 cupcakes.  We are going to have entirely too much cake, as we now only have about 115 people coming!

I have no idea, because we’re getting our cake through our venue, but I know if we didn’t they’d charge like $5/slice just to serve it! But their in-house pastry chef is very talented anyways 🙂 I want buttercream, because I can’t stand the taste of fondant, and beautiful things can be done with buttercream too.

you just made me realise that my cake is extremely expensive, even if it is cheap for this area. we’re having dessert provided, so our cake will just be finger slices for 50 people and it’s costing us $300. a lot of work is going into it though.

We went with cupcakes for about 50 guests. cakes were just too expensive for our budget. We are paying $20 for a 6 inch cake for a b&g cake and $1 for regular cupcakes and $1.50 for gourmet cupcakes.

@romanticbride42:  In our area is about $3 a slice.  However ours was free as we asked someone to make it for us. 🙂
