How much did you spend/will you be spending on your wedding cake? How many people did it serve? What did it look like? (Share your beautiful cake pictures!) Our cake tasting is on Saturday, weather permitting, and I want to go in with reasonable expectations and some good ideas:)

@sjhanddab2014: I voted under $300. Ours will serve 30. It’s quite simple. 3 tiers of ombre teal rosettes.

@sjhanddab2014: We are doing a small 3 tiered gold/blush pink wedding cake, that I am just in love with, and it serves 50 people I think.
But, we are also doing cupcakes that will be blush pink with small gold sugar pearls on them. They are going to be beautiful and so delicious! We did 100 of those. So, we are going to have plenty of cake to go around.
I think we spend $250 for all of that. Our baker is just amazing and they taste great!
Here is the picture of the cake inspiration. The flowers will be pink tulips instead! Sorry it is so giant couldn’t get it to resize!

- Wedding: May 2013 - Pavilion overlooking golf course scenery, reception at banquet hall
I paid $600 for both of my cakes. I was looking for a very specific design for the baker to create, and she gave me the best price, had the best portfolio, and (IMO) had the best cake I’d ever tasted in my life, lol.
Main cake was 4 tiers and covered in white chocolate dipped pretzel sticks: 16″ bottom faux cake just for height, then a 13″ chocolate tier with chocolate mousse filling, then 10″ white chocolate flavor tier with white chocolate cream filling, and then 7″ “anniversary” tier that was also white chocolate but was not included in the number of servings estimate because it was intended to go home with us. The whole thing served 107.
The grooms cake was a 10″ 1-tier cake that was white velvet flavor with strawberry filling. It served 39.
So… $600 for 146 servings or $4.11 per slice. (plus free 7″ tier)
I’m actually ordering my husband’s birthday cake from her in a couple weeks as a surprise. Same flavor as the grooms cake but a simple design 9″ cake for just $30. 🙂 I am a loyal customer!

@sjhanddab2014: not sure how much my cake cost because it was included in the package for our venue. but it was a 4 tier cake and fed 170 people

Our cake was close to $900… we had 150 people, and we did have cake left over after giving generously sized slices to the guests. We had red velvet with cream cheese filling and almond cake with brown butter filling. Both were fantastic.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Our Backyard/Steakhouse
Ours is being made by a friend of ours, 3 tier (dark chocolate, vanilla, red velvet) with crusted buttercream frosting. She’s a chef with President’s Choice (Loblaws/Zehrs brand) and is making it as her gift to us. This is our inspiration photo
