Oh my goodness! I can’t imagine your frustration! I would ask the venue to find a new place or threaten to sue for damages & lost deposits.

@Dutchbee:  Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear this.  I cannot imagine how you are feeling.  Yesterday I had a scare when I found out my bridal salon that I ordered my dress from has closed.  I had a HUGE panic moment.. but it looks like it is going to work out now.  However, there is no comparing my situation to your situation.. that is absolutely horrible.  All I can say is attempt to stay positive, and just remember that you will be married and it will be wonderful when that time comes.  I am truly sorry 🙁

Wow. I would probably be filing a lawsuit. I’m sure you’re losing a lot of money by cancelling your other vendors (photographer, music, etc) with such short notice. That sucks 🙁

@Dutchbee:  Oh my gosh.  Did you sign a contract??  If so I would be in contact with them and letting them know either they make this right, or you will be seeking legal council to seek damages.

That is so terrible.  I hope this all works out for you.  Sorry.

@Dutchbee:  Well done! I hope everything goes well with the law suit and finding a new venue. Do you have a Dutch version of the Bee? You know, a wedding forum? You could look for vendor and venue reviews to make sure something like this never happens to you again.

So sorry! I hope your wedding next year works out fantastically!

My BFF’s wedding venue cancelled on her about 2 months before her wedding because they went bankrupt! Thankfully she was able to get into a small ballroom at a hotel that took care of everything for her and she had her ceremony moved to a local church. It was a hassle and she had to send out updates to everyone letting them know about the change of plans.

@Dutchbee:  how do they handle this? do they pay you for all the deposits you may have lost from other vendors?  I can’t believe that!!  I’m so sorry 🙁
