First of all, color can make or break your decor! Color is sooo important, it unites a room sometimes.
Next, lighting is a main reason so many "upscale" places feel upscale, and it's fairly cheap to do. Consider what you want your room to look like, with some examples below:

Good luck!
When you say "hall" do you mean something like a community center room? Just a blank white space? This sounds like trying to decorate a house on a budget. Obviously color will have a huge impact. Could you buy an inexpensive bolt of cloth or tulle and hang it in front of the wall? You could even hang it in advance on a rope and just tack the rope to the ceiling the day of. Or cloth in different colors for vertical stripes. How about tablecloths in a unifying color. Is there any way to hang art? Perhaps just a few large cheaply framed prints. If you really have a big blank space to decorate check apartment therapy for ideas for houses.
Gorgeous examples! Thanks!
We have the wedding ceremony itself in the hall, which is like a communtity centre. We opted for this choice, since churches in our area were unable to have an outside minister(my cousin will be marrying us)
Attached is a photo of the wall I speak of.
Thanks again for your help!

Here, I tried to resize it, so hopefully this works! Just ignore the stage and the tables that are in the photo.
Thanks!
Just hoping to bump this up, if anyone else had any other ideas as to decorate the hall for our ceremony. We are going to have an arch at the end, with an aisle runner and chair covers. Any other help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Ladies!

Hi!
My fiance and I are getting married in a hall this summer. We have put much thought into how we could decorate the hall in a frugal way, but havent come up with much! We were planning on doing an arch, however there is a wall put up (to divide the hall) which is not very attractive, and we are unsure how to make this look nicer, without an expensive backdrop
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! :)
