I booked our wedding venue 2-3 days ago, and although i really want our ceremony to be held there, the reception….not so much.
i think the manager is rude, we booked our time for an earlier time than we origianlly wanted, to give him some breathing space for getting our reception finished for them to re-open to the public……I didnt mind that so much, but i have now found an even nicer hotel in the same town, with fantastic views and landscaping…….
when we put down our deposits for the first place, it was just the cost of the ceremony room, £250, and we would sort out the reception details later……next year.
so really, the ceremony is fully paid for, and i really dont like the logistics for the reception, having to move out of the ceremony room for 2 hours while they get the recetion tables set…(its all in the same room) , plus i think we will feel rushed to get finished so that he can have his room back, for opening to the public….
The other hotel, the prettier one, is not licensed for wedding ceremonies, so i am just wanting to hold my reception there.
My question to you is….do you think the original hotel will still allow us to get married there, then move on to another place for our reception?
I dont really care if it appears rude to him because he has been rude to me. but I would really like the other place, and if a hotel is licensed to legally marry you…..surely that doesnt necassarily mean you have to have a full blown recption there. its not like the ceremony room is free, we paid £250.
and i dont really think he wanted to take our small booking anyway, so maybe i should just ask him if we can just have the wedding there, and then move on to the other place.
I mean things change dont they? for all he knows we could be cancelling a reception and not having one at all, but we still want the ceremony….
So far all we have done is pay the Ceremony fee’s, and have not signed any kind of contract for any other service.
