Anyone else having major problems with macy’s? We made our first registry and could NEVER access it or put anything on it. We finally decided to go into the store and do it the old-fashioned way. And I STILL can’t look at it. It always says there are technical problems. I know our guests can see our list, but we can’t see it or add or subtract from it.
I really don’t want to have to go to the store everytime I want to update. Anyone else having issues with wedding channel? Were you able to fix them?

I registered with Macy’s and didn’t have many problems. Are you going directly through the Wedding Channel website? You should make them aware of your technical difficulties.

I registered with Macy’s as well and never had any issues accessing my registry online, whether it was through Wedding Channel or directly through Macy’s site. Have you tried accessing it through several computers? I know sometimes there are sites that I can’t view through someone else’s computer for some reason.

There were a few days last week when I’d try to access my registry and it gave me a message requesting I email them about what I was doing when I encountered the problem. This happened repeatedly but I never used that email form — it seemed a little suspicious. It cleared up for me, though.

Thanks everyone! They were doing maintenance last week and apparently my registry never got rebooted (don’t know if that’s the right term). The rep just pushed a button or two and we are finally up and running. 🙂

What about this – I had my shower about 2 weeks ago and I was shamelessly stalking the registry; but ended up with so many duplicates it wasn’t funny. One guest told me that the gift that was sent to my house was not the gift she meant to get me (and the one I opened b/c it was sent to HER house so she picked up the gift that was at my parent’s house to return it b/c she didn’t want to get charged on her hard – no matter though) and when I did check the thank you notes manager, the duplicates didn’t show up.
Said guest called Macy’s and asked what the deal was – apparently because Fortunoff’s is bankrupt, everyone is registering at Macy’s and the site is overhwelmed (hence the fact that updates don’t show up so quickly, or not at all! I had to manually update my registry).
So annoying. One of my bar glasses was broken too – anyone know what the policy is regarding merchandise that was broken when shipped to the registrant’s address?

Any merchandise which arrives broken can be returned or exchanged as long as you have the receipt and the item shipped directly from Macy’s and not from the gifter’s home address.

I had the same problem Rosie. They were doing "technical updates" when I was having the problem. The good thing was, they had it up and working the next day.

Ohhhh yes. When Fiance and I got engaged, we decided to have a Saturday, July 4 wedding. I registered with weddingchannel soon there after. Well, a few months later we decided, based on logistical issues, that we’d move it to Friday, July 3. Weddingchannel would not change our date. I ‘changed the date’ over and over again, but it wouldn’t change on all pages, including our new Macy’s registry. After a few polite emails and no changes, I had to send a furious, strongly worded email. Things finally changed.

Yeah, I really liked the consultants at Macy’s and of course their products. But for being a "one stop shop" the weddingchannel website is not very up to date. For a website, I should be able to resolve a problem by clicking the faqs or help or via email. I thought it was weird I had to get someone to fix it over the phone. I also had to have her remove a duplicate registry that I could not remove myself.
