I guess you could incorporate rust as one of your colors, but personally, I'd go with the cost of renting chair covers. I personally am not a huge fan of the chairs to begin with, so my opinion may be biased though.
Hmmm. If you cover the chairs you'll still have the rust colored carpet. I say incorporate rust into you wedding colors. I think dark blue, rust and ivory will look good. IMO teal is too summery for a December wedding. Maybe do a lot a dark blue and ivory with the dresses and decor because you will have soooo much orange/rust at the reception.
I got all my chair cover and sahses for 1$ per chair. try checking local calssified adds for home companys that do diy rentals.
I woould totally do chair covers my chairs ar al most the same and it just seemed to look incomplete withut then covered.
I would also look into lighting options. Some venues or DJ's may be able to (for a fee) rig up lighting in different colors (such as blue) that will mask the color of the chairs and the rug enough so you won't notice it. Or leave them. Honestly, if your reception is in the evening, the lights will be dim for most of it (candles, all that) and you probably won't notice them in the photos.
I think that those vibrantly coloured chairs would take away the "wedding" feel. I know how hard it can be on a tight budget, but I think that if you shop around for chair covers you won't regret it. I would worry more about the chairs than the floor. If you keep the light dimmed it shouldn't be too much of a distraction. =)
Because your chairs have the opening at the top, you could also use chair sashes or table runners tied vertically to just cover the back of the chair. This would be less expensive than full chair covers.
There's a pic posted somewhere here on the Bee but I can't find it just now.

I'm in your boat with the rust-colored chairs and carpet. I'm not changing my theme colors, I'm just going to suck it up and get the chair jackets ($1 each cheaper than the full chair covers) and sashes in my peacock blue and apple green. In my space I don't think anyone will notice the floor with the lights dimmed.
I would incorporate rust as one of you colors I also like the orange and teal orange and pink looks nice too!
blue and orange are complimentary colours. therefore, certain tones and hues of blue will look okay with rust, which is shade of orange. the pics from pp look great. it's beautiful, what an inspiration!

I am getting married in December and am going for an elegant evening ceremony and reception. My venue is a very beautiful brand new hotel in my city. I love everything about it except the chairs! They are a rust orange color...and so is the carpet in the ceremony room!
Originally I wanted to go with a black, white and dark teal color scheme but that would require me to rent chair covers (an added expense). Does anyone have any color recommendations that will go with these chairs? I've considering dark blue and ivory with the rust. This is certainly not going to be a rustic affiar so I am afraid if I stick with the orange chairs it's going to look too autumn-y. Any help from the beehive would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
