Wedding Colors

Some of the other 2011 bees have shared their colours there ^

I’m going with shades of blue (girls & ties/random other things), grey (vests and pants for the men folk), and white as main colours — but I am not an insane planner type who intends to strictly coordinate everything (which is evident in my flower choices :P)

Have you looked at muted colours for outdoor/rustic inspiration? Lots of previous Blogging Bees have done outdoor/rustic type weddings, so there is lots of inspiration there.

GL, happy planning.

@peachykeen87:

for my july wedding, I am doing coral and sage….but I was really thinking of doing yellows and peaches/corals.  Perhaps that would work with your rustic idea?

I love coral and sage!

I am doing navy blue BM dresses with decor/flowers in peachy and gold and ivory accents. We are going to be outside and semi rustic, so think ivory linens with a bark/wood disc with a peachy coral floral wreath etc. 🙂

I was planning african violet purple and turquoise with pops of silver or apple green.

But i’m confused now.. So I’m going to wait awhile and get more inspiration.

Color scheme = cornflower or periwinkle blue with yellow accents.  Wedding is in a state park, and I’m going with lighter colors because the setting itself is so beautiful.  I don’t want to try and compete with splashy colors and decor.

It took me awhile to decide on colors. I didn’t do matchy matchy colors, and ended up with a darker, but shimmery green for the bridemaid’s dresses, and then as far as the rest of the colors, we used bright pinks and oranges and pops of lime green. Everything was more coordinated than completely matching, if that makes sense. It turned out really well.

@Amaryllis:   I’m doing navy BM dresses as well and absolutely LOVE the versatility of the color!  I’m wearing an ivory dress and the navy/ivory combo is amazing!  I haven’t decided on accent colors yet – I was thinking maybe brighter jewel tones for flowers etc, but reading your idea has me rethinking my original thought…   We’re getting married in an outdoor ceremony on the shores of a lake in northern Wisconsin so I too am trying to keep with the rustic/outdoorsy theme…

Our BM dresses will be green, and flowers/decorations will be white/green with a bit of hot pink thrown in.

Mine are like a lot on here! Deep blues, ivorys & champanges. They were one of the first things I decided on.

I first thought of the “tone” and theme for the wedding. I wanted romantic, cozy, and warm. To me, that meant candlelight, deep blues (relaxing and romantic) and I just happen to love blues popped with whites.

BM dresses are “marine” ie deep royal blue, white flowers, deep blue linens, and all the candles I can ship to Mexico will make up our theme.

@MenoBride – my good friend is doing all of those colors too!

Have you chosen colors yet?

Purple, and ivory, or purple, ivory and beige, I’m still not sure!
