    @yehyehgirl:

    You know what I say? It’s your wedding, and you can choose whatever colors you want! I don’t think your guests are going to come in and be like, “Wow, your colors are not very spring-y.” I mean, who determines appropriate colors for a season anyway? We are doing rose red, light teal, and white for our colors, which I’ve been told are more summery colors, but I don’t care. Those are the colors we like.

    Besides, gold and black and red will be soooo pretty! Even just gold and black would be lovely.

    @yehyehgirl:  The season helped choose our colors but it doesn’t need to. When I heard April colors I did immediately think pink and green but it doesn’t matter, people will understand your vision when they see it. I wouldn’t have any spring like components then because they would clash.

    Seems like a harsh combination to me, but if it’s what you want, go for it!

    @yehyehgirl:  I think you should do whatever colours you love. I’m doing pink and teal and I can tell sometimes when people ask me about it that they think it’s gonna clash or be tacky. However, they can choose whichever colours they like for their own weddings. Teal is FI’s favourite colour and pink is mine and I happen to love them together!

    @yehyehgirl:  Matching the venue makes more sense than matching the season and not matching the venue…. that made sense, right? Haha

    Well first of all I agree with PP that said its your wedding so do whatever you want, and secondly I think as long as it is an evening wedding black white and gold will look very elegant, and from what I am picturing in my head (kinda great gatsbyish) will look terrific in your venue.

    P.S. We are date twins!  Its finally starting to feel soon!

    Definitely go for it! Especially if it fits the style of the venue. Who cares about the season, make you colors/theme whatever match the style of your venue, that’s what is gonna look best

    I’m having a deep plum/gold wedding in April

    I was also picturing it a lá Great Gatsby.  Remember, it’s YOUR wedding! Whatever makes you and your FI happy, go for it!  😀

    I love your colours!  Definitely go with what colors you love regardless of the season.  I’m having a winter wedding, but my colors are going to have pinks and creams.  My invites are floral – so very much spring looking – but I loved them and I picked them regardless!  You will get a lot of opinions, but the one that should trump them all is your own:)  Whenever I ask my friends their opinions on wedding stuff, it’s the same question, but they all come back with different ideas!  Go with what makes you happy – and when you look back on your photos, you will know that you wouldn’t have had it any other way!

    I’m doing black/white/gray/royal blue for April 25th. Do what you like!
