do you have photos of the room? its hard to say if one color palette will work without seeing it. Where I got married we had gone in an visited several times, and saw some interesting setups. it was a dark, tudor style ballroom with faux candlelight and we added candles everywhere as well. We saw one wedding set up with bright pink linens covered in sparkles that just didn't go with the room and looked ridiculous. Other times we saw different colors that ended up looking really nice....I think its important to choose something that will look good in the room.
I would stick to whatever color scheme you prefer regardless of the color of the ballroom. Look into uplighting around the ballroom. If the walls are light yellow, the may be able to pick up a color that goes with your color scheme such as a pink or purple. Have a professional company come in and take a look around.
Hi all,
Thanks for your advices. I tried the 'insert/edit' image button but it ask for URL instead of directory, since my files are on my harddisk. Even if I tried adding my directory, it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone guide me on how to attach a pic of the ballroom in this board?

Many many thanks

<div class="content">Hi all,
I am new here. My fiance and I are getting married in November this year, in Malaysia. We are both Malaysian Chinese. We are struggling with our theme and color.
We are having our dinner reception in a ballroom with yellowish lighting from several huge chandeliers, yellowish and brownish wall and carpet with some long mirrors on the wall.
Both of us don't like red and yellow. We hope to create modern, elegance and romantic mood for our reception. On top of our mind, we have 2 sets of color combinations. 1) Hues of pink + lime green + ivory, 2) Pink + lilac/pale purple + champagne. What we are worried:-
1. both color combinations might not match the ballroom or might be washed out/mellow down by the yellowish lightings.
2. which option looks better under such environment?
3. OR should we look for colors/themes that matches the ballroom rather than going for our dream theme? If yes, pls do suggest other alternatives.
Appreciate if anyone could enlighten us.
Thanks in advance :)
Janice
