I just had an epiphany: I don’t like my current wedding colors. At least, not as is. I had chosen a deep eggplant purple and green. Those colors are okay, but I’m not even sure why I picked them. I’ve never been overly fond of either. To add to my dilemma, I’ve never been a “favorite color” type of person, even in gradeschool. I feel like, up until now, every color I’ve thought of has garnered a “Well, it wouldn’t be too bad” response from me.
That is, until a moment ago, I started thinking of a soft, pale, blush pink, and the more I thought about it, the more excited I got. It made me feel feminine and romantic. So, this gets me to my question:
What do you gals think of pairing a blush pink alongside my original deep purple? Does it look “80s”?
More background on my wedding: I am getting married in a lace dress in an old weathered barn in the country.
Ps – I’m getting married in less than four months so I’m running down to the wire and REALLY need to settle this. Help, please!!!

I love it. If you love it, that’s all that matters. OMG when did colors have decades? If that’s the case, I’m in deep trouble

I think it’s sort of 80’s and a little frou frou. What if you did eggplant with cream? or the light pink with champagne?

I think it sounds great. Actually I just made a post about the same issue. I am wanting my colors to be pale pink, black, and white but there is something not working for me. My favorite color is purple so I seached purple option and I came across a board on perfect palette with shades of purple and light pink and it was so pretty. Here is an inspiration board of it. I think it looks amazing.

That looks like a really nice color pairing. The lighter color compliments the dark one in tone and hue. I say go for it! 🙂

Thank you, ladies! CharmedLife – that inspiration board is PERFECT. Exactly what I was going for but not describing very well! Y’all are the best!

I love the idea, and the inspiration board! I always like colour schemes that are a range/palette of one colour!

You can use any combo you want. No two people will agree on what looks good and what doesn’t. The only important thing is that you and your fiance agree. It doesn’t matter what your guests think.
I don’t see anything wrong with the combo and think it’s pretty. I don’t think it’s dated at all.

I think both sound good. I’m not big on color either. I’m going more with just a theme and running with it. I think if you start to get too matchy matchy, everything is kind of boring and predictable. I have a fall wedding so my colors are coral, aubergine and cream but i’m going more with a vintage garden theme and not worring too much about color but just incorporating it where it makes sense. Hope this helps!
