Our wedding colors are Hot Pink and Kelly Green. In my head they would be accented with white. (white table clothes, white chair covers, white flowers ect)...

But I feel with the appearence of our venue my accent color should be more of an ivory or gold.

Do you think white would be ok? or should I go with something different?

(my picture was too big so here is a link to a picture of the venue. http://i31.tinypic.com/2sagdfo.jpg and http://i25.tinypic.com/256tua9.jpg )

Do you have a picture of your reception room, so we can have a better idea?  If the room isn't overwhelmingly all about ivory, white might still work...

Hmm - I see what you mean.  The white in those pictures looks really really white though.  Is there a less-bright white that you can use, that still wouldn't be ivory?  (I never knew there were so many shades of white until I started wedding planning, lol).

For the base table cloth my choices are white or ivory (or renting my own which I'd rather not do) The overlay can be pretty much any color but in those pictures the white is just screaming to me.

Glad you see it too and Im not crazy. I just had a huge debate with FH about the fact there is a difference between white and ivory! Boys!

Lol - totally understand re: boys!!

Well I don't think the white looks bad at all, IMO; it is just bright!  But also, perhaps when you put the centerpiece and dress up the tables, and if you have some pink and/or green accents it won't be "all white".  Good luck and keep us posted!

Looking at the photos, I think your pink and green will look great in that room!

I too got stuck on colour ideas when my desired colour scheme did not go with the reception venue (that we absoultely love otherwise). One of my now-married friends put it best when she said that no one is going to notice the colour of the room, but they will surely see your colour accents. :)  And she's right! Who goes to a wedding and goes home thinking, "Wow, they really didn't match that white with that other off-white very well" etc...

    Good luck with everything.
