Totally. It's evening, it's fun, it's summery I think that could be really nice

I like both, but I think the purple/blue/magenta would be lovely.
I voted purple and gold. The other colors sound really nice, but they might be hard to pull off.
Purple and gold remind me of "school colors." Purple, blue, and magenta would be so beautiful together.
@mattsarmybride: I thought the same thing about it seeming like school colors!
I love the purple, blue and magenta combination. It's so vibrant and would be beautiful for a summer wedding.
@Miss Godiva: @mattsarmybride: Haha, our colors are purple and gold because they *are* our school colors! We went to different colleges, but they both had the same colors. We added ivory to round off the palette.

OP: I think Purple and Gold looks really classy but a bit formal. We're having an outdoor wedding at a vineyard, and I think sometimes the combo is a little *too* formal, but we're making it work because the colors are significant to us. If you want more whimsical, maybe purple and marigold (think: sunflowers, billy balls, etc). And I think purple, blue, and magenta looks terrific. You win any way!
I'm worried about the boldness of all three colors but I think if we just use touchs of magenta it will work better.
@toshella: that literally made me LOL, that's awesome you guys had the same school colors!
So we are going with the purple, blue, and magenta. But, our venue has gold chivari chairs and I think our wedding cake is going to have some gold accents. Do you think my dress will clash since it has silver beading or am I over thinking things?

Beautiful dress!!!
Maybe you could use silver and gold in the decorations. Maybe something silver in/on the table centerpieces to go with the gold chairs. Also, a little something silver at the cake table to go with the gold accents on the cake.
silver = stars, gold=moon.... the rest = midsummer night's dream!
see, you got it all covered! ;)
also, silver and gold go great together, so I don't think it would be a problem at all!

Our main color is purple but as I was discussing options with a florist she threw out blue and magenta as accent colors. I think this will fit my evening whimsical wedding next June. What do you think?
