Do you have any pictures of the reception location, that might help us out a bit? I was worried about the carpet in my location but after looking at other pictures, you really don’t notice if its not one of your colors.

Mine aren’t. Our reception venue has dark wood work. We are having charcoal grey dresses and I have yet to decide on another color, but I am thinking a soft pink. I don’t think that it is necessary.

We have the options of different color linens, so I am using black, but that is just a personal preference and it is at a museum and the feel of the venue to me screams black linens.

I don’t think your decor needs to “match” but it needs to “go.” For example, I wouldn’t do a winter wonderland white and icy blue look in a room with burgundy carpet and gold walls. Most people don’t notice the carpet because it’s covered with tables and dance floors. I haven’t seen your room, but I think you could do your color scheme, especially since the walls are ivory.

The ballroom (and view) look beautiful. I think a palette of cool tones would definitely work.
