Yes, I used one and feel it is a must-have. I used Jodi Collela (Accents Unlimited) and highly recommend her.
We are using someone also. Sumer Schmitt of Simply Perfect Weddings. Her website is http://simplyperfectwedding.net/index2.php?v=v1
She offers DOC and full planning. We both work full time and having Sumer has been a blessing...worth every single penny and then some! I could have planned this myself, but I wanted to enjoy the process. Our wedding is in October and we hired her last October. She is fabulous! I cannot say enough good things.
Good luck, no matter what you decide.
I used a DOC and it was the best decision I made for my wedding. She ensured that everything went smoothly and was was there for everything we could have needed. She was fantastic and really affordable.
I used Jessica with Holloway events and could not reccomend her enough!

Ok so my wedding is a long ways away and while I have the big things (church, reception, caterer) booked, there are a million other details that will obviously come up. Has any one used a wedding cooerdinater and if so what capacity? Was she there throughout the entire wedding process? Just on the day of?
I personally think I might benefit from a DOC just because I am so detail orientated and would be having an anxiety attack the whole day unless I knew someone was making sure everything was running smoothly. How much does a service like this cost and what experiences have other bees had with their DOC.
And for those in Pittsburgh, any recommendations for DOCs?
