I'm not sure if it's the fact that in a little more than 6 months our big day will be here or what but I'm starting to freak. It seems like everything is costing SO much.

Anyone else start to freak when $$ start to add up?

It was really bad for us about 6 weeks until the wedding. There were so many surprising costs we were really freaking out.

We just had to save more during those 6 weeks. I kept telling myself "in 6 weeks, it's over"

Could you save more? We started saving $100 extra dollars a month. It really added up and helped us out

We have cut out a lot of unnecessary spending. I just took up some babysitting for extra cash. Realistically I know it will work out but it's just so overwhelming.

Yes!  My wedding is less than 6 months away now and costs are starting to add up.  And I'm sure they will continue to add up until it's over.  As Gabrielle123 suggested, I'm just trying to save every dollar that I can and I've started looking into cheaper options for the things I haven't paid for yet.

$84 for picture frames?  Just spent it.  Its not in the budget but its necessary for bar signs and to remember our loved ones.

We are realizing that big bill at the venue is coming up so our goal is to pay everyone else off before the wedding.  There are still tons of misc things that need to be done like OOT bags, postage for invites/thank yous, etc.  Time to pinch the pennies and kiss a spring break vaca off!

I have tried to budget high for all the expenses I don't know about. I keep a running total of everytihng I spend.  I know things will pop up but I'm hoping by overshooting the total on some things it will help pay for the cost of the surprises that pop up!  I HOPE :D

Ugh tell me about it. We are AT LEAST $15,000 over budget. Yep, that's right.

We went shopping for my FI's wedding band and of course he fell in love with one that is $1,200 over what we had budgeted. It just never ends.

It will all be worth it though.

@Treejewel19: My fiance is so laid back. He is like we will make it work. He keeps telling me to not stress. I don't get it! How can men do this?

We budgetd $1300 for both rings. We will definitely be way under budget since the jeweler who did my e-ring is doing our bands too! Flowers are a gift from a family friend who is a floral designer so I know it can always get worse but I can guarentee that I will be worried regardless.

We are 15,000 if not more over budget too! No more trips to the mall, girls nights out have now become girls night in, we only go to the movies if we have a groupon for it, an instead of the nice places we use to go to eat we now go to the places that offer the 2 for 20 meals! The first paycheck I get after wedding I'm heading straight to the mall!!! Too bad it's over 9 months away :(

It is super stressful! I never considered the costs of a guest book, table numbers, vases, postage, bridal accessories, etc. It all just keeps adding up! I am trying to save as much money as I can and am trying to make a little too. I'm currently selling books and furniture that I no longer use or need.

@Bichon Frise: oh god. Postage? I nearly cried when I saw it's about $190 in postage alone for invitations. Who thinks of these things?!

@mickeees: No idea. I guess that is why we are marrying them, to balance us out. ;)

@Leonard2B:  I hear you on that! Thank goodness for Christmas gift cards or I would be in a serious shopping drought.

@mickeees: That's how I feel! Nobody includes the cost of postage with the invitations. Plus, it seems the fancier the invitations, the more it costs to mail. Sigh

@Bichon Frise: my mom works for a print shop so thank god she advised me how heavy some of the invitations can be. But it's still pricey. Cheese sandwiches for all the hive until our wedding day's! hahaha

I just got back from the printer. Invites were 1700 and that is not including the postage or calligraphy. Vodka is my friend!

I too am totally freaking about the cost of everything. Budget 20,000 and already at 25,000 it never ends! I'm trying to pay for everything as we go and it makes everything so tight. I know I will be happy when it's done but good lord weddings cost tooo much!!!
