That is horrible, I can't believe people do stuff like that. Always have to be on guard, as if there isn't enough to worry about that day.

Oh my gosh that's terrible! I'm glad they caught them! At least they could cancel the gift cards and checks, if needed. I really hope they find the money!

For some reason, I always assumed that it was safe to have a cardbox or birdcage, but there goes that theory!!

How awful!!  It makes me sick that there are people out there that do this kind of thing.

You really have to wonder about some people.  That's a horrible story!  l glad they were caught and will have to be accountable for it!

TWo of my vendors have warned against this. I will have someone greeting right next to it when we walk in then have the coordinator put it away in a locked room until we leave.

@kjpugs - that's a great idea. I hadn't considered doing that, but then again, I didn't really think things like this might happen either. Better safe than sorry, I guess! :)

We intentionally placed our gift table on the far side of the room so that it wasn't easily accessible from the main door.  One person remarked that it was inconvenient for them to have to carry their things halfway across the room, but I preferred knowing that our gifts were safe.
