I did, I really wanted a cake but 1 they are expensive and 2 the local cupcake bakery has the greatest cupcake I have ever had in my life and since they don’t make cakes and won’t make me a cake in that flavor cupcakes it will be.

I am doing them on a tiered cupcake stand with a small 6in cake at the top, and I am thinking of doing 2 flavors(one for me one for FI) and then mixing them equally on the stand.

I did.  We did have a top tier, but the rest was cupcakes.  We had a winter wedding and our colors were light blue and brown.  Here’s a picture:

ETA:  I made my own cupcake stand.  It obviously worked, but I don’t really recommend it.  Buying one would have been a lot less stress and probably looked a lot better.

I always wanted cupcakes 🙂 They were delicious, beautiful and a hit with guests. We also had a top tier cake for cutting!

I am doing them!  My avatar is my inspiration picture.  The top tier will be just as it appears in my avatar–but the cupcakes will be Tiffany blue with white bows (not boxes as pictured).  Our cutting cake on top is red velvet with cream cheese frosting.  The cupcakes will be two different flavors–almond with lemon filling and german chocolate with raspberry filling.  I like cupcakes because you don’t have to have someone cutting cake.  Plus, my cupcakes are half the price of a cake, and I haven’t been to any weddings in my area where the couples used cupcakes in lieu of cake.
